Product update. I had mine for 47 days before it quit working. Fantastic product. It is for the features it has. The best multipad out there. I exchanged mine for the Yamaha multi 12. And am very happy. The Alesis reliability issues kept me from getting another one. I will wait a few years for them to work out the bugs before I consider another one. Hope yours is still working

Ben Pursehouse The sound cut in and out on my headphones and then it just cut out permanently. I tried connecting to the 1/4 output to a monitor and it also wouldn’t work. So like I said earlier in my comments months ago I went with the Yamaha dtx multi 12. The Alesis is the best out there for what it does but for reliability which Alesis has always had issues and I experienced it which confirms all the complaints and went with older but reliable Yamaha which is still a beast.

I used to really dislike Alesis products. I don't need another multipad, and I still prefer my Nord Drum 3p, although it's in a different niche, with different features. That said, I gotta hand it to Alesis, this Multi Pad screams quality and looks like a solid alternative to the latest SPDSX. They've really improved since the Strike Pro. Good stuff.

Great review man! That's a pretty sweet piece of tech! I have the SPD-SX but have always been bummed that I can't use it for live loops - it has no way to cut loops to a perfect loop length unless you cut them in your DAW and export! This seems like a good middle ground between the spd-30 and the SX - I might have to check it out... Cheers for the info!

Thanks for the video, very clear! So i guess one could sample an entire backing track for a song and assign to one of the pads...and then just trigger the pad and jam on top? Also when looping... could I assign different length loops to different pads? So for example, if I do a 1 bare drum loop and have it on pad 1, could I then do a 4 bare loop (for example a 4 bare guitar chord sequence) and have it on pad 2? Thanks again! :)

@@lechlerguttersllc9553 sounds like you got a lemon. I did end up purchasing one three years ago and I’ve used it on 100+ gigs a year with my band. No problem uploading samples, no functionality issues. The one big criticism I have of it is that the interface is not user friendly. For something produced in 2020ish, the workflow used to program banks of pads, rename banks and samples, etc is 1980 Atari level suck.

I think I'm going to try merging my Roland TD11K with my acoustic kit to see how i get on with that. I’ve been interested in this piece of gear for quite some time now. I was just about to order an Alesis Strike MultiPad Percussion Pad but I need a very important question answered first. I know the Alesis Strike MultiPad Percussion Pad is capable of so much more, but I plan to use it only as a drum kit. I’m now in a situation where there is a physcial space and volume limitation. There’s not enough space for an electronic drum kit. It would be great to just walk in with this pad, a stand, and a foot and hi hat controller. QUESTION: When the Alesis Strike MultiPad Percussion Pad is used as/like a drum kit, is the hi hat able to be played/controlled closed, half open and sloshy? Or is it just closed or fully open? Thank you!

Let's suppose I want to load up the Alesis Strike with my own snare sample and I want it to have it's own velocity range depending on how hard I hit a pad with said sample on it. Would I need to upload 127 samples for each velocity or can I just upload one sample at a "normal" volume and the Multipad will do the rest for me? Does the Pad Work with the strike editor software? Thanks in advance! :-)

Great review! Thanks. I'm wondering If having some type of cover or guard over the display would be a good idea. I can imagine hitting the screen by mistake.

Thanks for the nice video. I have a question. If I want to control the kits with a foot switch, i.e. back and forth. How can you set that. There are Fs1-Fs3. But I don't know how to do that. Maybe there is already a video. thank you very much Greetings Fredi

Excellent video. Your drum mix has certainly gotten better, even though I dislike your preference for snare sound xD. The cymbals sound gorgeous - i hate the stupid squashed overhead sound

can the loops be automatically quantised while performing?? and can you move to a new set of pads during a loop? like start with a set of pads acting like a bass guitar, loop it, then move to a set of pads that are drums...?
