@@stel1638​​⁠​⁠I agree that it sounds to be on the + of 4. However, the next measure skips a beat. Their usual pattern ‘2e+a 3 a +’ happens before beat 2 of the next measure. Making me think the OUU is actually on beat 1. Meaning that modulation they do is in a 7/8 measure. And then continues in 4 with OUU on beat 1.

End result seems like this. I think his “OUU” came on beat 4+, not beat one. However, I think they then together dropped half a beat. I think beat 1 was supposed to be empty, and they accidentally lost time. They picked up again right away, but no that “OUU” doesn’t appear to be on beat 1

Drummer here, pretty sure the 'OU' is supposed to be on the 1 - it's just very VERY slightly out of time. That whole section is in 4/4, just using a 4:3 polyrhythm for that particular part.

With RogueWave it's really a tag team and not only two skilled beatboxers smooshed together. I think that's why they don't try to do hard complex stuff individually, they get the essence of what a tag team is, and that's why it's not to heavy to listen and flows so well. they add value to each other while other tag teams may feel like they're trying to compete internally with their sickest drop at the same time...

Rogue Wave has the biggest advantage in tag teams, it has 2 of the best beatboxers in the world which automatically brings in such intricate and complex combos which can not be copied or replicated by anyone else. But i felt they could have done some fan service and switched up their bpm or beat at least once. It felt monotonous even though they did little variations in their breaks and their bridges. Sonically they were clean but i considering their level individually i expected one portion of their set to have more musically heavy part as river is one of those few beatboxers who have perfect balance of technique and musicality which pulls both scales of the beatbox world.
