That’s the tempo of the Romance and Germanic languages (especially Spanish, but also French (Romance), English (Germanic), Italian (Romance), Portuguese (Romance) and Romanian (Romance). It’s not that they were chattering and not giving time for the translator, it’s that the Russian does not match the Spanish syllabically as one language is Slavic and Cyrillic and the other Romantic and Roman. She wasn’t disrespected. You also must understand that winter sports aren’t as popular in the Americas where people tend to follow national team sports (such as soccer/football) (although the existing fans of figure skating and other winter sports are very intense in their support), so a story about Sasha requires a lot of preface for general Mexican audiences to understand the full context of the interview (as the Olympics and figure skating have a very muted presence with Mexico having an extremely small federation).
