A mass moving at 50 mph all of the mass is moving at 50 mph fact if kinetic energy is only 1/2 mass velocity squared then what is in the other 1/2 of the mass regards Graham Flowers MEng

Kinetic energy is not *the mass* - it is proportional to 1/2mv^2. This is a fundamental concept to both physics and chemistry. You can find this equation and a detailed explanation of the concept of basic thermodynamics in any 100-level physics or chemistry text.

@@RoxiHulet It looks like I will have to explain that the energy in the other half is force same as the first half the energy that is transferd is the kinetic energy the maximum that can be transferd is 50% if you try to transfer more then the flywheel wil be slowed down and not have enough energy to keep running just under 50% and it will keep running consistent work from a consistent force regards Graham Flowers MEng

@@RoxiHulet It is not my clam it is a fact that has been miss represented by the younger tutors read older physics books they say that a moving object has kinetic energy object X velocity squared no mention of mass at all or 1/2 mass the equation you know is part of the energy transferd equation of consistent work from a consistent force if you are interested in understanding how that works then watch youtube video on the gyro wind turbine 2 you will see energy transferd from a flywheel to a generator there regards Graham Flowers MEng
