Thanks for this video! Just installed my awning this weekend and agree with everyone else. Instructions are "OK" but not very clear with the open/close limit. I'd like to offer some additional tips to others: 1) I mounted my motor on the right. The close limit is still RED. The open limit is WHITE. 2) As someone else mentioned, connect the plastic hex tool to a variable speed drill because you will need rotate the screw a LOT. Make sure you use a low speed setting on your drill. You dont need a special bit. Just feed the plastic tool handle right into your drill. It should fit all 1/2" drills. 3) For setting the close limit: Open you awnding to about 2ft out. Adjust the RED screw with the drill. For me, I must have spun it at least 10seconds. On your remote, see if the awning will close. Eventually you'll notice that the awning doesn't close. That's when you know you've reached the close limit. Spin the screw a few times with the drill. Use the remote to extend the awning then try closing it. The close limit should be closer to the frame now since you've adjust the limit. Keep doing this until you get within one foot of the frame. Once you get really close to where you want the close limit to be, stop using the drill and just manual spin it with your hand a few more click until your desired position. The motor will move with each click. Test out the limit with the remote by extending then closing to make sure it hits your limit. 4) For setting the extend limit, it's pretty much the same instructions as the close limit, but use the WHITE screw. Extend about halfway, spin the white screw a few seconds with drill. Use the remote to extend more. If it does extend any more, then you know hit the limit. Use the drill to set the extend limit then use the remote to determine where the limit it set. Hope this helps!

Thanks bro. I couldn’t have set the limits without you help. I put the tool on my dewalt drill and found the limits easily. Just keep spinning counter clockwise until you feel the screw bumping over the last screw thread. Then un the motor and twist the tool to the desired limit. Cool!

I replaced the awning fabric and ran into the same problem. After trying all kinds of stuff I noticed the allen screws and thought, wonder what these do. Came right up to your video and everything lines up perfectly now! Thank you for posting this informative video!

Thanks so much! I was turning the limit switch a couple of times. It did nothing! I didn't realize the limit switch adjustment would actually move the roller manually. After watching your video, I now know what to look for when making the adjustment

Thanks for the video Sutter ridiculous that there isn’t better guidelines from the manufacturing have to turn in 100 times. One would think something doesn’t work.

I very much appreciate this video. This product is one I could never recommend. The instructions are horrible. Bizarrely, even though my motor was mounted on same side as the one in this video, and the colours of the limit screws are the same and in the same order as this video, the functions of the two limit screws were reversed in mine! Given how many times you have to turn the limit screws before they do anything (which I only knew because of this video), it took me a long while to figure it out (why is it STILL not limited the retraction? Oh, now I just happen to find out it was limited the extend all this time!). Crazy. I got this only because the anchors were already in place from a previous owner and I didn't want to have to seek strata approval for new anchors. But I do not have high hopes for this product and I do not recommend it.

NOTE: Each button must be pressed within four seconds of re-setting, otherwise the system will restore to the original state. 1. Remove the back of the remote and insert the battery. (round thin button battery) 2. Plug your motor into a power outlet. 3. Press the P2 button (only button, very tiny) two times. The motor will beep twice. (it is very quiet, you will probably not hear it) 4. Press the up button one time. The motor will beep several times. 5. Press the up button one more time to activate the motor. 6. Your remote is now programmed. Nay Nay now your motor will probably start working. warning instructions may be reversed if motor is on right side like Steven said. another tip is all motor programming and retraction adjustment are easier to do while you have it on the ground before you install it on the wall. I know you probably already have it up on the wall.😉

Verified purchaser, verified assembler. It’s too late to turn back now. All the boxes are opened and parts scattered everywhere. The first comment I must make is this. Either all the retractable awning manufactures must also have pathetic assembly instructions. And KZread support videos made by the most incompetent composers. Or this Aleko company would have already been out of business. The printed instructions provided inside packages are disgusting. Images of parts on instructions do not match the parts provided in the box. Important steps are either omitted. Or they come along in the assembly process out of order. Causing one to disassemble to reassemble. There are parts in the box that are not even on the assembly paperwork. As far as the KZread videos recommended by the technical support. They too are still missing steps. The parts shown being assembles in these videos actually change from one step to the next. Possible different product revisions of the units over the years. But why then in the same assembly video. It’s like you are being shown how to change a transmission on a 1965 F150. But then you are suddenly being shown how to do the next step on a 1985 F150. I purchased a motorized unit. There were zero instructions in any of the boxes on how to assemble that part of the process. And the KZread video recommend by the technical support was one of those that changed parts being assembled along the way. It has you looking through all the parts provided tying to find these other parts. As they look like they would have worked better. Not sure which revision they were from. Not the one delivered to me. But more revisions are still definitely needed. How in the heck this happens is beyond me, I still managed to get the unit assembled in a day. And once one gets through it. It really pisses one off seeing how a set of clear and up to date instructions would made it a whole less frustration. And how it would have been so easy for the manufacturer to have provided that. It is like they want people to hire someone that has done it before. I pray to God it works now once I get it mounted on the house. And then lasts beyond the point where I forget how frustrating of an ordeal it was.
