    @let me tell you I’m not sure what Kafir is but I’m sure it’s a negative reference to anyone who isn’t a Muslim. As far as the Iranian wrestler being better, it wasn’t the case on this day, but I agree the call was not what I would have thought, being the home team anywhere in the world has its benefits. My message was that I love watching Iranian wrestlers and respect them and their fans immensely. So good for the sport.

    I have always found it fascinating that Iran has been so good at wrestling... they have a significantly smaller population to draw talent from yet Iran consistently has great wrestlers. All controversy aside, this was a great match to watch and i have really grown to enjoy watching Iranian vs US wrestling matches.

    Dude, wrestling is national sport in Iran. If our athletes had just 1/10 of the financial and infrastructure support like western athletes, Iran would be much stronger.

  • @Culvey

    @Culvey

    @@OnkelSKG I understand that, however you also have a much smaller pool of people to develop talent from, which is why most countries have trouble competing in the Olympics against countries with high populations even if they are a rich country like Switzerland or Norway. So despite having less financial/infrastructural support and having a small population it's amazing that Iran is so strong in wrestling.

    Wrestling is in the Iranian DNA. Iranians are genetically very strong people. The few Iranians who were introduced to American Football usually do well as linemen and centers, like Bakhtiari of Green Bay Packers.

    Makes America look weak because from what I'm seeing, America is the only country that does this tactic, especially against the underhook. I get it, it's part of the game (for now), but it makes the US look like wooses

    Grounded rule needs to go. Head out rule needs to be changed in some way. Wrestlers are consistently exploiting these rules. Yazdani was clearly the better wrestler in the 2nd period, scoring 6 contested points but Panteleo was able to abuse his knowledge of the rules to squeak by with a “victory”. Not saying its panteleos fault, do what you have to do to win, but the ruleset should not allow this to be possible

    Def subjective call … seen similar moves called continuation … yazdanis move was initiated before head was out … this wasn’t the worst bad call against Iran throughout the duel … officiating was one sided throughout much of this rivalry … no stall calls on pantaleo the last part of second period ? … some out of bounds calls were definitely not “grounding/kneeling” and easily could have been a point for yazdani !!

    They invented the ground rule to reward American wrestlers who abuse it! Completely unfair and silly to punish the attacking wrestler who clearly pushes his opponent out but gets no point. Without that rule, American wrestlers with exception of a few, won’t win as many matches. This rule will be changed.
