Alec Baldwin’s ‘Rust’ Crew Member Breaks Down About Seeing Cinematographer Get Shot

Ойын-сауық

"Rust" dolly grip Ross Addiego took the stand and explained his experience working on the controversial movie set in New Mexico. Addiego broke down crying while explaining the chaotic moments after actor Alec Baldwin fired the gun and shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Addiego also claimed that armorer Hannah Gutierrez was responsible for checking the firearm before filming the scene. If convicted, Gutierrez could face up to 18 months in prison.

Well that's entirely subjective. The witness has a conflict of interest that challenges the authenticity of his testimony, the witness has contradictory expectations of the production's efficacy and the armorer's ability to function within that limited efficacy,. The witness is also a man that cries -like it or not many men will immediately be repulsed or at least begin to question such a phenomenon. "Cruel" is just a silly way to describe it, this is a trial, and I have a feeling you wouldn't care how many grown men your lawyer made cry if it kept you out of prison... even if you deserved it.

Not 100% verified, but I have seen reports of crew were using the guns on weekends with live ammo for target practice/plinking. This would make sense as to how live ammo got on set. But also, a live round has a bullet on the end of the cartridge, a blank is either open ended or has a crimped end, but does not have a bullet in the end. Yes, no real bullets should EVER be on set, but anyone with a 3rd grade education could tell what a real bullet would look like vs. the blanks she had been putting in the guns the entire time.

Yeah things definitely bother me. One of the students I was tutoring in AutoCAD came into the lab after classes that evening. He asked about technical issues concerning a type of computer for which I didn't know the answer. I suggested he talk with the others in the lab that they might know. I don't know what was said, but I know guys laughed. And he left. I decided to go home to finish working on my project. I heard on the news that he had gone home and shot his 10 year old son while he slept and then killed himself. It bothers me to this day. If I had known the answer or could have helped him that evening maybe events would have occurred differently. I knew his son from him being his kid to the other labs while I was helping him with AutoCAD. That happened in 2005 it bothers me to this day. I keep thinking if I had changed events maybe he wouldn't have gone home and killed his son and himself. It bothers me.

@@donivanpotter2762 I’m so sorry this happened like it did but I totally agree with the other commenter…RELEASE IT. This is also for anyone else who is suffering over something like this. Do whatever it possibly takes to do so. Release a ballon. Write a note and burn it. Whatever it might take. My grandfather hung himself years ago. The psychiatrist told us that it’s NEVER anyone’s fault. Once a person has made up their minds to this, it could be days, weeks, or even years. They don’t want help! They are cowards and opportunists. They wait for someone or something to trigger (no pun intended) the seed, the idea, that they planted in their own mind and for a “reason” to bring it to fruition. Even they, themselves, don’t always know exactly when but, once they go thru with it, they want it to be like it is someone else’s fault. It’s a CRUEL thing to do to anyone! If it hadn’t taken place then, it would’ve just taken place at another time for another “reason” and for someone else to feel responsible! It’s only natural, human, that things like this really bothers us and it does make one feel terrible, BUT…it’s NOT your fault or that of anyone else’s. The average person, who might get laughed at, sucks it up and moves on. They don’t go unalive themselves, let alone take someone else with them! However, as much as I HATE to say it…better himself as opposed to you, who was unable to help with his question and/or even those that laughed at him or going elsewhere and taking it out on other innocent people because even the ones that laughed at him wouldn’t have deserved that. Just sorry he made his son part of his cowardice act! It was ONLY a matter of time! This had nothing to do with you or even the ones that laughed at him. It wasn’t kind what they did but it wasn’t the cause…probably just the excuse he’d been waiting for. Release yourself. This was nearly 20 years ago. You’ve been punishing yourself long enough over something you could’ve never prevented. It was going to happen at some point, regardless and unfortunately. We must live for the living, as well as those who’ve gone before us! Peace to you!!

And neither should she be. She needs to be held accountable for her gross negligence. No, she wasn't alone....the conditions there were disgustingly lax and sloppy. But, the armorer is responsible for the ammo. It's just that simple. We ask police officers to put themselves in harm's way, we don't give them a break for being tired, or young. Or officers serving overseas. Or health care workers...or people driving cars for a living. FFS.

worst part is he obviously knows it looks bad. He's not trying to win this trial, he's fighting the production's trial here, at the loss of his "client". His real client is no doubt very happy with quotes they'll try to pull from this trial. They're all guilty and I don't care if Guitierrez loses, but how obvious is it that Baldwin is trying to use her to get out of justice? I hope he gets decades in prison.. he won't because US legal systems are a joke, easily bought and sold, but he should.

I would give him millions. The crew makes very good money but they do it by working under extremely stressful, high pressure conditions. He will have to take lower paying jobs because anxiety could ruin his ability to stay focused. He could literally be losing out on millions in total lifetime income, depending on his age, and that is BEFORE you even count whatever should be awarded for emotional trauma that affects his personal life. The crew that were there in the middle of that should just be given Baldwin's entire estate to divide evenly. He won't need it if he's spending thirty years in prison for murder. That is the only way to make greedy rich people think twice about risking other people's lives to make a few extra bucks.

No one on a film set should ever have to experience this level of trauma. The first AD should have been charged along with the grossly negligent armorer. The fact that the 1st was given immunity for his cooperation is criminal.

This man explained everything about the running of a film set as clear as he possibly could and stood up to the Defence's battle of words very well. He has a right to sue for putting everyone in danger and the Defence are making it appear he is only after money. The ones at fault are the armorer, the propmaster for handling guns and ammo and Dave Halls for not prioritising safety announcements and checks.

Trying to split hairs, witness literally saw a bullet, and was not aware earlier, before the actual event.
