    I re-recorded this mission that's why I play with different people here. The mission was so easy so I turned Aldaris AI to insane and replaced Zerg player with Protoss (white). Special thanks to Tamamo and Zenmaster for joining.

    This in my opinion is the worst SC1 mission writing-wise. There's really no legitimate reason for why Aldaris couldn't just tell the others what he discovered, and apparently, he didn't even tell his fellow rebels what he discovered. If even just one other rebel knew of what Aldaris discovered about Raszagal, then Kerrigan's entire plan goes up in smoke right there.

  • @rRecoveryProd

    @rRecoveryProd

    Aldaris couldn't think of anyone to trust on this delicate matter, not even Zeratul given how much he holds Raszagal in high regard and because unlike his kin he is NOT linked to the Khala. And for all Aldaris knew, Zeratul could've been complicit in Kerrigan's plot given how easily he trusted her. And given how much he relies on it, I don't think communications tech was something he considered given his pride.

    Ah, yes, the most controversial mission in terms of storywriting. Where Protoss IQs are being nerfed to dumb idiots falling to Kerrigan's ploy. Aldaris should've been smarter than this.

    The writing is questionable but I can see Aldaris acting like this. He's prideful and sees himself as a defender of Aiur and Protoss honor. He doesn't trust Zeratul, Raszagal, the Dark Templar, Artanis, etc; so he takes it all on himself to expose Kerrigan's influence. Still, when the battle was in full swing and Zeratul had returned to Shakuras, there was no reason to withhold what he knew until after the battle. Artanis' "Kerrigan has changed" was really bad though.

  • @razorback9999able

    @@JH24821 The fact that he learns from his mistakes in the previous campaign only to repeat it again in this one is just plain character assassination. No, not literally when Kerrigan killed him. Imagine if in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where in Thor, he has to work himself to become worthy in the eyes of Asgard, only to be unworthy again in Thor: The Dark World. That'll undermine anything Thor did in his previous solo film.

    @@razorback9999able Indeed. But you can also argue that he just couldn't look beyond his pride and prejudice. Even with him being right about Kerrigan he still chooses to go to war openly instead of taking a more discrete approach.

    Meanwhile, on StarCraft Alternate… Upon returning to Braxis, Dugalle informs of Duke's rebellion with some incomplete false information and orders Stukov and Davis to deal with the traitors. As this was exclusively a Terran matter, and because he's orchestrating things from behind the scenes, Duran's Tribe sits this one out for now. As such, only the Captain's forces, the Cronus Wing, and the Delta Squadron who think siding with Duke isn't the best choice. After plowing through two decoy Battlecruisers, Duke ejects from the CNV Destiny inside his Siege Tank, which is theb surrounded by Davis and Stukov as they try to hash out what exactly is his reason for this insurrection. But that's where Duran and his Dark Templar steps in and they swiftly silence him, making their leave once they're cast out by Stukov.

    Suddenly the Conclave's dogma against the Nerazim seems just an inch more rational if they have such formidable mind controlling powers at their command. Not enough to justify their actions of course. Maybe it's been a while since I played this one but I don't recall it being 'easy' by any means.

    It's a very easy mission in all the coops and singleplayer as you easily snowball Aldaris by Mind Controlling every strong unit of his during assaults and even stealing some of his carriers and mass producing some of your own. The next map is quite the challenge though, especially when you want to flex on Zerg and destroy them beforehand

  • @ThisIsntAYoutuber

    @ThisIsntAYoutuber

    Because mind control isn’t temporary. It literally crushes the target’s mind and turns the body into a mindless puppet. When the DA releases the body from their control, all that’s left is a crumpled corpse. In other words, the moment a DA touches Aldaris’s mind, there is no more Aldaris. Of course… it didn’t matter since he died anyways. Kerrigan really played em for fools.
