Pretty cards. Ah yes! I remember that one of the "joys of owning a dog" was the bath that came after he rolled in something not so pleasant. My neighbor would always throw food scraps at the edge of the woods behind her house. If he had rolled in some of it, he would come walking back up to the house with his head hanging down because he knew what was coming. He was a little Chihuahua. One day he came walking back from her dumping ground with a whole steak hanging out of his mouth that was almost half the size that he was. It was so funny watching him roam around the house trying to find a place to bury it for later. He passed away 7 years ago and I still miss him.

Kelly, you are really a treasure! I was cracking up about all the critters and when you got to the frog 🐸, I completely lost it!! This is exactly what would happen to me. It is comforting to know that I am not alone. I have endless stories about the colony of squirrels who took up residence in my condo attic. I still have nightmares about when they clawed through my bedroom wall in the middle of the night during a thunderstorm. I still have PTSD (Post Squirrel Stress Disorder)!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! 😊💗 YOU totally rock, between always learning something new, all the inspirational videos/gorgeous cards and the great stories, U ALWAYS make me smile/laugh and usually bring back awesome memories of my boys when they were little! My youngest (Harrison) was shy like Peanut, it took quite sometime for him to find his own self! He was always trying to be like his big brother! Remembering all the facial expressions when they first saw or heard something is priceless! ❤️ I hate how fast they grow up! I didn’t get divorced until my boys were 11 and 12! I was working 2 jobs just to get by, luckily their dads child support kept all the food going in our house! (I always let them have their friends stay with us, I wanted to know what they were doing, I felt this was the best way. Unfortunately I usually spent about $300 a week on food?!😱) It’s so hard being a single mom, there’s never enough time in the day to get everything done! God bless you! “It’s totally one day at a time!” Enjoy every crazy minute now, because someday Nathan will be all grown up and on his own!😢 I’ve always loved you sharing pictures of Molly (Jackson looks so much like her, just a mini version! He totally has short man syndrome! Lol) I did own a Great Pyrenees dog (Zeus) he was awesome! Very laid back and great with my boys when they were younger! The only thing the breeder did NOT tell me, is that they are VERY protective of their yard! We had and electric underground fence/wire Surrounding 1 acre of the property so that Zues could enjoy his yard! He was constantly crossing through this electric fence system ( chasing away all the coyotes surrounding our property)that we had professionally installed! We had the fence company come to our home at least for five times! Tried everything to keep him in his own yard, unfortunately nothing worked! So we found him a wonderful home in New Hampshire on a farm that had a great Newfoundland that he could play with! I felt horrible, but I knew he’d be much happier. We ended up with a chocolate lab named Duke, he was the best dog I ever! He lived to be 14 years old! If I was ever to get another dog, it would definitely hands-down being a chocolate lab! Just wanted to give you a tad bit of info on my experience. I hope this helps.😊❤️ ps Slugs totally gross me out! 🤢

Beautiful cards Kelly. Love the colors and compositions. I have Three Boxers and 5 acres ( thankfully) and they are always rolling in other animals poop. Even though we are fenced, raccoons and possums come into the yard at night. You’ve been to FL, so you know our bug population! Lizards, wasps, big ants, small ants, dirt dobbers, all kinds of spiders, several species of frogs, snakes, squirrels and the dreaded roach. Ugh. ... living up north does have its advantages. 😀

Just be glad you don't have snakes too.. Last week my mom found a baby copperhead in her living room. She dispatched it no problem. Me, I would have moved out if the state then and there. Table dance time!!!!! Ick ick ick!!.

I second Michele's suggestion of beer for the slugs. We used to get slugs on the hill going down to our driveway when I was a kid. Daddy cut the bottoms off 2-liter plastic soda bottles, kind of half buried them in the ground, and put beer in each one. I honestly don't remember if any slugs actually got into the beer and stayed there. They may have and Daddy just emptied the vessels out before I saw. But I guess after a while the word got out to the slug population to avoid our house, because I haven't seen any in a LOOOONG time! Snails--that's another matter. They seem to like tomatoes, which we grow in a few planters in our back yard, but at least they don't get into the house. Of course, a few of our tomatoes have "become" escargot meals, but anyway.... I do love how your cards came out. The backgrounds are fabulous, especially with the addition of the stenciling & foil. I usually end up with a hot mess on my alcohol backgrounds, so I don't see how everyone else has such a fun time with them. :( Maybe I just need to practice more. Oh Kelly, I was having a crappy day and there you are to save the day. You are pure joy, story time cracked me up. Made me laugh and put a smile back on my face. We back onto to forrest so I hear ya about the critters, especially the spiders. Once it gets dark, I won't go downstairs, if I do, I send the husband down first on reconnaissance. LOL. Your cards are beautiful. I loved all the bright colours and it's amazing to see the cards come to life. I think I need to break out the copics after dinner and just sit and create. Beautiful cards! Your slug story reminded me of when I was about a year out of college. I rented a duplex that was really nice and fairly new and I loved it. And then came spring. One night I came home from my shift at the hospital after midnight, dead tired and walk in the kitchen and there are slugs in my kitchen floor. I was so disgusted. Got rid of them and went to bed, worked the next evening and then the same thing. After a few nights of it I called my landlord totally freaked out and ready to break my lease so he came over to investigate. There was a little space under the dishwasher where they were somehow coming in. Thankfully he was able to fix it that day and I never had anymore problems. LOL I hadn’t thought of that in ages.

I love all the coloring.. you need to make some of these alcohol backgrounds again😄❤🧡💛💙

Kelly I don't know what to comment on first; Your beautiful Cards, your beautiful painted nails/free hand painted? Or your stories that I've also enjoyed hearing! Well I guess I answered my own questions didn't I LOL :D :D !!!! I was going to tell you, once I lived in a basement apt. and I noticed that when it rained a lot all of my drawing paper would be moist when I would draw and also my Strathmore watercolor paper. So, with all the rain that you had and your embossing that would stick to your paper, it could be that your cardstock paper is also moist but you can't feel that it is being that it's heavier paper! So, if, "IF" it rains a lot again and your embossing sticks, try drying your paper before you emboss anything! Let me know if it does, I'd like to know incase I get a home and put my craft room in a basement, or if anyone else has this problem. Oh yeah and with your lovely, adorable, funny stories I started watching your tutorials @11:00p.m. well, it's 5:00 a.m. OMGOSH REALLY LOL!!! Where has the time gone when I've enjoyed myself with you LOL Thank You Kelly for such a good time, but I better get a couple hours sleep. After all I'm 61 not married disabled and don't go no where so I sleep when I want to lol ; )

Oh my gosh Kelly, these cards are swoon material!!! I've been chicken to pair up alcohol ink backgrounds with my flowers or use them as a scene background, so you've really inspired me to gave it a go. I took up Copic markers 15 months ago, learning a different coloring/blending method, but when I have colors that don't blend as easily, I use your method (light to dark and back) and it works wonderfully 99% of the time. In fact, like another commenter today, I've learned a lot about Copic coloring from you. So thank you so much for being willing to share your creative gifts and of course story time!!!

OMG! I know exactly what you're talking about with the Slugs. I lived out in Sandy Oregon which was a shady area because our home was surrounded by huge cedar trees. When I was hanging up clothes in an upstairs closet I noticed something on the wall and it was a great big banana slug! Yuck yuck yuck!! We saw them attached to the outside of the house as well and I'm not sure how they crawled all the way from the ground up into the closet but it became a problem for a couple of months. I just simply moved them by putting on gloves and grabbing them and taking them outside and flinging them out into the treed area. And I don't know if they ever came back but I know there were more that were coming in for a quite some time. It was so gross! I couldn't imagine having something like that in my craft room that would make me crazy! Just had to share that because I could totally relate. Love your alcohol backgrounds. I've been watching all of the videos. Keep crafting and inspiring folks like me.

Stunning cards, Kelly! Your stories had me ROTFL!!! A couple of months ago, and first time in my life, I too was bombarded with an ant infestation. The only place they gathered, and I'm talking HUNDREDS of ants, was the top of my stove! It literally sickened me! They came back, after spraying once with an ant killer, the 2nd night so we repeated with the spray. Apparently, they were coming from the baseboard behind the stove, which on the other side is our attached garage, so we ended up spraying on the side of the garage as well. I gotta tell you, I'm 59 and have never experienced this before but I can report, at least to date, that they haven't come back. I too have read that rain draws them in but why they would be in your craft room is beyond me LOL, unless of course you eat sweets in there. Thanks for making my day, Kelly!

Once again, great card,great srory! I live in Nevada, we have scorpions, we also have cute little lizards! I have a pest control guy who comes, lays down some stickypads in my garage and does whatever else he needs to do in the house and yard. Well I have saved 2 lizards that have gotten themselves stuck, carefully pulling their little tail and limbs off the sticky, laying a piece of paper where the limbs were (ask me why), and putting my little powder bag for stamping on them so they are not sticky. sadly today, when I was doing another lizard, he was not having it and I got him off, mnus one front leg, but he probably won't make it. The scorpion that was on it definately didn't make it!
