Alcohol Ink Painting - Thoughtful
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This is one the three round paintings I did with the same color scheme. This one is 10” round and is available for sale on my website.
I recently participated in Anuja Aggarwal’s ripple course from her website Piece of My Art and it helped me greatly improve my ripples.
Materials:
Nara round 10” paper
100% isopropyl alcohol
Copic teal blue (BG18), Aqua (BG15), and Lavender (V06)
Pinata brass - diluted
Silicone brush
Fine paint brush
Cotton swab
Revlon hair dryer
Air bulb - to help quickly dry dots

Love, love, love!!! I was about to give up on my alcohol ink journey, but this video has re-inspired me. Thank you for not speeding up the video. The number 1 take away for me personally is, it looks like this takes a lot of patience. I think that I will try Copic inks as well. For some reason I thought that they only sold the markers.

Yes, patience is definitely needed and lots and lots of practice. I have had other artists inspire me, so happy that I can help someone else. Anuja Aggarwal is one of my favorites for her style and I learned a lot from her.
You make it look so easy! I watched this and went to try. I cannot seem to keep it in a line! Thanks for the tutorial. You’ve shown me it can be done, with patience. Now I just need to find some 😂

It's very meditative to watch. I love how the gold gets pushed around on the surface edge of the ink/alcohol but seems to be randomly deposited from beneath as the ink dries. Anyway, it's very beautiful ❤

Thanks so much Rosey ☺️ I have done a couple if things. I bought a round matt cutter and made my own matts to put them in a square frame. I have also found some inexpensive round frames where I removed the glass and displayed without a matt (dont put the painting directly against glass). I also had a friend cut me some 10” round 3/8” plywood rounds to glue them to and painted the edges.

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love pastels and this really speaks to my heart. I *need* to learn how to do this and since I already own a box full of alcohol inks, I just need the paper. Could you point me to a seller that carries the Nara? I suppose I could just google it but I was hoping you might know of a vendor you prefer and could suggest. Thank you so much. I know I'll be spending hours looking at your videos to learn more.

Thank you so much ☺️ You can get the smaller pages from Amazon. I usually wait until Nara has their 2 for 1 sale and buy the bigger pages direct from Nara so I can do lots of different sizes. They have free shipping. Also, to practice and make it cheaper you can use the backside of glossy printer paper.

How do you dilute gold?
@tangledartisticdesigns
11 ай бұрын
I just put it in a separate bottle and add alcohol to it. Play with the amount you thin it until it moves the way you want it to. I do about 1/8th gold then fill with alcohol.
Can you do this on canvas?
@tangledartisticdesigns
10 ай бұрын
You can use alcohol ink on prepared canvas (a few coats of gesso or latex ink painted on), but the technique is quite different as the inks don’t move as smooth as they do on synthetic paper.
