I think they have some reverb on the vocals throughout the album, which would make them a bit harder to decipher amd give it a sort of "dreamy" or "fluid/airy" feel to them.

Alcest was my personal headliner on Resurrection fest and they did not disappoint. At the end of the gig, people left and right of me were crying, guys and girls - thats how powerful and spiritual their music is. I and my friends, immediately bought Alcest + Anathema tickets for October in Madrid and Im looking forward to both bands equally.

Actually did not expect there to be any screams in this. Pleasantly surprised. Now, i love Shelter to death, and i would have no problem if Kodama would have went in a similar direction (even though the album cover kinda revealed that would not be the case), but i'm really happy with this as well. I guess you could say that i'm down for pretty much any direction this band goes, as long as it still has the standard Alcest quality, and this track most certainly does.

It's exactly what I hoped the album would sound like: It's not a 180 degree turn and a return to blackgaze, it sounds like Shelter, but played faster and with some old Alcest parts thrown in here and there. It's also more upbeat (because old Alcest was way more upbeat than Shelter was). And damn, is it good. I loved Shelter and I'm glad to see that album's DNA still heavily sitting in the band's sound. So after being cautious about the record I'm not really looking forward to it.

Love it, still softer but more like the old Alcest that I've been on so many journeys with.
