I cannot even imagine and I’ve seen a few extra good shows (Cause I’m old lol) but this would be an interesting mix of catharsis and spiritual experience… thankfully we have musician like this bringing their brand of light and dark to the fore… it’s certainly a “Mecca” of musical sorts… I’d be interested to see Schammash live… I saw Pink Floyd play the “Division Bell” live in the hugest stadium I’ve ever seen… that was pretty flooring. How true too. Music is a fascinating aspect of life… people use it for all manner of reasons… a lot of people who hear this stuff… they pick on my “spiritual metal” they call it. I sighed and suggested it was certainly “thinking man’s music” (or woman) but I wouldn’t pigeonhole the depths of what’s happening here - PigeonToes! Lol godspeed

I don't really understand why so many people are so harsh to Neige about this album. I don't get why people are trying to tell musicians what kind of music they should make. If most musicians started to do what people want and expect them to do instead of what they have in their hearts we would have a ton of forced shitty music on the market which no one would really be happy with neither we nor the musicians. So please think about it when you are going to say that "Alcest turned bad" or "Neige should have done something like his previous albums". I think we shouldn't tell artists what they are supposed to do if music they do comes from their heart.

I think it's because it's so different from their other albums and fans weren't expecting it. People were afraid that they mellowed too much and got afraid. I've recently had the experience where one of my favorite bands put out a weird album, and I'm sad, so I get it. Music can be such a personal thing for many people. Neige said that they were listening to "too much Slow Dive" during the making of this album in an interview. So yeah, it was different from their previous material, with the exception of this song, I feel, which is right up there with Sur l'océan couleur de fer, if not even better. I personally feel that the real tragedy is Alcest listening to fan outcry too much with Spiritual Instinct and making a dumpster fire successor to Kodama, (which was just a perfect damn album, imo), alienating all the fans since just after their black metal days. It's underproduced, undermixed, and just plain crappy comparatively. (Now everybody go ahead and yell at me for my review of spiritual instinct, and I know you will because this is the internet after all).

To me, Alcest always had a kind of a "nighttime" atmosphere to it, while this album definitely feels "solar". It sounds like the soundtrack to a rising sun, rather than to a moonlight. Maybe not as mysterious as their other works, but it's somehow filled with hope and determination.

Feels like your chest its openning and pure light comes out
So unbelievably beautiful piece of music...
To me, Alcest always had a kind of a "nighttime" atmosphere to it, while this album definitely feels "solar". It sounds like the soundtrack to a rising sun, rather than to a moonlight. Maybe not as mysterious as their other works, but it's somehow filled with hope and determination.

I don't give a shit what anyone says about Alcest nowadays, everything they have released has been beautiful in its own way. They could have done another Post-Black Metal/Shoegaze album but instead they went this route and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. This is beautiful.

I'm glad Alcest did shelter, it was an experiment, and they came back even harder with Kodama, and Spiritual Instinct is gonna be on the same level as Kodama so we should all be grateful
How is it possible that such beauty can exist... That it overwhelms me

This song hurts me everytime .. so beautiful...
The reverb and mild distortion are, as if we are walking in the gardens on a chilly winter night holding the warm hands of our special one. Such a touching track!
I remember the first time I heard it when it came out. It was a pretty stagnant phase of life for me, yet I just sat on my bed with the track on loop and I was crying uncontrollably. Since the years, this song rouses many emotions, but now I think this just makes me feel hopeful in any circumstance.
What a gorgeous way to combine two of the most ethereal genres out there: shoegaze and post-rock.
This song makes me cry a lot! It's amazing and beautiful. Thank you Neige. ❤

The one song that can always take me home back to my childhood, no matter where I am in the world. For these 10 minutes, I'm 10 years old again and times are a lot simpler...
The song is perfect as it is, and it's the most beautiful song i've ever heard in my whole life... anyone saying it lacks heaviness doesn't get what the music is about. Just let yourself be embraced by it, feel it and enjoy it. This song is perfection.

I've got no words to describe how much this song is beautiful.
No matter how many times I listen to this song, I always end up crying.
Listening to this song while watching the sun set is one of the best feelings in the world.
I recently had to say "farewell" to my beautiful 17 year old spirit cat Lysander and this is the song I played during our last moments together... It was a terrible time but I like to think that her voice and my voice comforted him as he wandered off onto his new path... Thank you Alcest for helping me through the worst time...

Jaw on the floor, tears in the eyes....I can't really put my feelings into words. All I can say is, never stop writing music.
This song has brought me so much peace. No matter what kind of mood I'm in, I can just listen to this song, and I'm in a different place. Beautiful.
There's no greater beauty than the arpeggios with the sweet voice of Neige that create environments out of this world. That's the true beauty found in the unexplained.
I can't stop listening to it... unbelievable how emotional this song is... unbelievable!
3:05 - 6:35 perfect representation of divinity in sonic form. Perfection is unachievable but this is as close as anyone will ever get musically. Purely cathartic
it's always been like a child of mine. I love to listen, I bound to listen ❤️ LOVE from BANGLADESH 🇧🇩
I miss the blast beats, I miss the distortion, I miss the Metal but this is FREAKING AMAZING!
This.. brought tears to my eyes. thank you Alcest for an amazing song
This somehow reminds me sooo much of Decoherence by Insomnium. So smoothing and relaxing and still a song that makes me hope and doubt and.. feel. Wow. What an amazing band Alcest is.
I'm sure that many bands in the future will be thankful for this track.

Since finding this song a few days ago I must have listened to it a million times by now, from moments I've been out walking lost in the world around me with my camera and this music playing lost in my own world, to moments in bed when I feel and hear the music more, no matter where I hear it, each time it hits those points, it is very very beautiful.
My favorite track of 2013! Oh, how many times i've listened to the live videos on youtube. Finally, the real deal!
Easily one of the most incredible songs I have ever heard. Just absolutely gorgeous. I cannot ever get enough of it. So much depth, power and magic in those guitar notes and Neige's incredible vocals...perfection.
I remember when Alcest played this song live when I saw them last October. I was in a trance. The blue lights and the mist.... *chills
The song is gorgeous, eerie and candid but i hope the album has some heaviness to it, to balance, to give this light the matching darkness to make us cherish it. Like those moments in their previous albums when after all the blast-beating and screaming the light always came to crown it all.

Neige ❤️ thank you for letting us experience all these intense emotions. What a great musician you are. I cried during this song when you played it live as the last track. It was unbelievably beautiful, standing there with my best friend and we were just bawling our eyes out in front row. Merci beaucoup pour ta musique!! ❤️
this is incredible. I'm completely in love with this one. I can't really wait for the album, i don't care about heaviness or whatever, this song shines.
How are this band so amazing at making music? Nothing in any of their songs feels out of place, it's just serene.
