As a Federer fan and someone who's watched the big 3 over the last 20 years I really thought we wouldn't see another player like one of them for a long time. But Alcaraz not only is like them, but: - Plays like Federer but with a stronger mental game - Fights like Nadal but with a more atttacking style - Wins like Djokovic but with a more exciting game That's scary, and what a gift to men's tennis he is

Yes, I especially appreciate how comfortable Alcaraz is at the net. He has good hands, too. There were some shots he hit that were Federer like. Conversely, the Djoker always looks awkward at the net, especially when he tries to be aggressive at the net. He looks completely lost, and he's been playing for decades. Alcarez and Sinner can match his stamina and shot tolerance. Also, they have the power to hit him off the court. Most of the new players today carbon copied his style, but they don't have the reliable weapons that alcarez and Sinner do. Federer always did better being aggressive ending rallies quickly. But when he extended it he gave Djokovic and Nadal time to strategize picking on his backhand until he coughed up a short ball they can put away.

Alcaraz is something else. We've seen Roger grow into the superstar gentleman that made each point seem effortless (I know he doesn't like that phrasing)... the maestro. We've seen Rafa battle for every point, never giving up and driving opponents mad with his mobility and never-say-die attitude, especially in his younger years when his body could withstand all the effort, using that left forehand as a lethal weapon...the raging bull. We've seen Djokovic slowly perfect his game, until he became almost robot-like, with very few mistakes, mental toughness and perhaps the best return game of his generation...the most successful. What we haven't seen until Carlos came along was somebody who had the best of all three of those legendary players. A player, that can compete just as easily on clay, grass or hard courts. A complete player that already looks a certain bet to join those 3 legends as one of the most successful and important players in the history of tennis. He's only 21, can't wait to see how far he can go. Tennis is in good hands, take a bow, Carlitos!

Carlos saved the very best till last. I've never seen him this patient and thoughtful in his point constructions before. It's like he listened to Mats Wilander in stopping being fancy and instead go to bread and butter, as well as lean on his strengths. He is a special athlete. That was a near perfect performance. He almost let Djokovic back in the contest by missing 3 championship points at 40-0 on serve, including messing up a forehand drive-volley on a possible out ball from Novak. Nevertheless, great composure under that distressing and disappointing situation. Against any other player, Novak may have come back from there and won the match... but Carlos stepped it up once more to finish it. It's just unreal from him. Novak is unreal as well, reaching the Wimbledon final again with such a short turnaround in recovery from his knee surgery. These two are insane freakshows. An all-time great and a future all-time great doing their thing. Crazy stuff. Well done boys 👏

Some of the fans dislike Carlos because he's very outgoing on the court, and while I recognize there's a little cockiness there, it's simply because of his shear joy and passion for the game. He has earned his right to be a little extra in his celebrations, 4 GS at this age, defeating Djokovic B2B in Wimbledon finals, it's impressive.

This match, with Carlos is right up there with McEnroe's tennis perfection that day. I never believed I would ever see such a sublime dismantlement again in my lifetime! Djokovic fan here, I want to congratulate young Carlos Alcaraz on the extraordinary level of tennis that he showed on several occasions against the best tennis player of all time. Carlos is the most complete tennis player that exists among all these young players. I wish him the best of luck in his future career and to continue where Novak left off. And I wish our champion Novak to recover from this defeat as soon as possible and to win at least one more GS and round to 25! greetings from Serbia✌

What a phenomenal match from Alcaraz. Novak very played well but Alcaraz was just one level better. Alcaraz was focused from the first point till the end which isn't something he's done well all tournament with other players. He only lost a little focus when serving for the match with three match points and a very focused Novak roared back. So Alcaraz did an amazing job to win in the tiebreak against Novak who is the master of tiebreakers. Alcaraz played his best match in the finals.

An extraordinary match in tennis history. Not for the tennis, or even the result, which we now realize was basically already written the moment these two stepped out on court. It was the level of acceptance shown by Djokovic in the third set. No tantrums or racket smashes as we’ve seen in the past. No crying like we saw against Medvedev at the US Open. A calm sense of inevitability seemed to wash over him. That smile that was caught on camera between games in the latter half of the set. The way he didn’t even bother taking a changeover break in his seat down 5-4, instead waiting at the baseline ready to accept his fate. For all the talk of passing of the torch, in retrospect none of Alcaraz’s previous matches against Novak were quite that-they were dog fights. Despite the knee and title drought this year, this was the match wherein one era ended and a new one begins.

It is foreseeable that Alcaraz will win when he is at 100%. As great as Djokovic's career has been. He is 37 and was already defeated by Alcaraz last year. And Alcaraz will get even better in the next few years. Alcaraz now has 4 Grand Slam titles at the age of 21. Djokovic had 1 title at that age.

@tritone11 I think Roger Federer was the most complete tennis player to grace the game . He was good at the net , ground strokes , great serve, maybe lacked the stamina of Rafa and Novak. Carlos , at this age, is better than all three at the same age.
