In 1984, I was a senior in high school and played the hell out of this album in my car stereo. So much that the passengers in my car were singing along with the title track. Still love it.

Man what I could give to be in high school back in the mid 80s. Sounds like a wonderful time. The title track is one of my fav Sabbath tunes. I still can't understand why Shockwave wasn't a big hit.

I got into sabbath I’m 1976 at 15 with most of the 1st 6 albums and TE that had just come out! My friend who became best friend turned me on to it when I was just into Wings and the Beatles mostly and sabbath really had a huge impact. I still consider TE one of my favorite though. Love the sounds Melodie’s and there’s at least 4 great songs with amazing guitar too. Mostly the last two got panned and therefore people pan it more. Got to be listened to as unique albums not compared. NSD has some intense guitar Johnny blade shockwave are just two. And swinging the chain is off the hook with wards brilliant vocals. I wouldn’t put these as their classic greats but I’d say these two are honorable with some of the original energy.

That's great would have loved to live through the original Sabbath days! I always say I'm 20 years plus older at heart than my current age. I'm approaching 40 going on 60 haha. Yeah they last two are usually looked at as Meh and most critics don't like them either. They're more unique that's for sure and more adventurous than the first 6 or so. I still haven't gotten into TE that much and it's my least favourite Ozzy-led Sabbath album. It has some good tracks Dirty Women you won't change me and It's alright so it's alright of an album lol had to but I feel NSD is more guitar driven and not as experimental as TE maybe why I like it more. The title track shockwave johnny blade and junior's eyes are all awesome and very underrated. I liked the first Bill Ward song it's alright but never cared for this one the vocals seem off to me. Dave Evan's wrote it apparently and Ozzy wouldn't sing anything he wrote. Junior's eyes was written originally by him but changed lyrically when Ozzy came back for the album. I need to revisit TE again it's been a while maybe it will move up in the rankings. I should do a ranking missing TYR and CP but neither of those are near the cream of the crop and close to the bottom anyways haha. I plan on doing one soon if I don't get those maybe sooner.

I like it. Production isn’t great, could do with a remix maybe in the future. But then, Iommi don’t care about it🤷🏻‍♂️ You’re not gonna remix an album you don’t care about. Good video, probably Johnny Blade is my favourite track

It's not great production but he really wanted that forbidden remix lol 😆 That album isn't nearly as good as this one but it's notoriously bad production. I think he doesn't care about it as much because it was a turbulent time for the band so I think that's a big reason.

@@officialwillieg2001 I probably will to as I am as well. It would be nice to hear a better version of that album at least. I like vinyl but probably will go cd cause I need to save money and there isn't anything special either about the vinyl one. Born Again doesn't sound very good you're right, but I like it a good bit actually, way more than Forbidden. I doubt we get a remix of it.

I've listened to it at a young age thata an og my dad had and always liked it. Never cared that much for TE but liked this one a good bit. Gonna do a ranking one of these days I think this makes top 10. Only thing I don't like is the Bill Ward song I like it's alright but swinging the chain just meh for me otherwise solid album.

Killer review man. Band was in a sad state as you mentioned and unfortunately their final two Ozzy albums show it. Ozzy and Geezer were almost killing each other when together hence he preferred not to show most of the time. Still dig it though!🤘🎶🤘

Yeah they didn't even want to be in the studio together. That's why heaven and hell and Dio was a breathe of fresh air (and personal top 10 metal album ever for me) because I read Iommi's biography and he said Ozzy would be at the pub come back drunk and ask Tony what he had for him to sing 🤣. With Dio they'd work hand-in-hand in studio with all the songs together it's a much more closer knit experience and you can here it on the first 2 Dio albums. Yeah they hired briefly that Dave Walker guy and Ozzy wouldn't sing the songs he wrote so that was another thing. I still like it much more than TE though and maybe even sabotage minus the two great songs off that. After Sabbath Bloody Sabbath it all went belly up and then after Dio even more lol 😆. I need to do a Sabbath ranking but that will be impossible 😅 I have a top 4/5 bottom 3 maybe after that pfft could be any order haha it def could change but I need to make one soon just need 2 albums to complete it.

@@retro_wanderluster9962 Ronnie is one of my fave vocalist of all time so those 1st two with him would rank pretty high for me. But Ozzy was my first intro to Sabbath, so loving Dio almost seemed like cheating lol! I do like Dehumanizer and the later reunion Sabbath but called Heaven & Hell. I'm definitely in the minority but I absolutely fucking love Born Again as well. Not a big fan of much of the other 80's Sabbath tbh though. I can't get into TE no matter hownhard I try. It just feels like Ward had checked out after Sabatoge to me. Love to se your ranking. I'd need a few more before I could, but I'm terrible at rankings anyway. I'd have to rank each era seperate I think. But Master Of Reality, Vol.4, Paranoid, and their debut are always in my tops, but after that it is impossible man!

@@twangersturntable Dio IS the metal frontman imo. They did a metal frontman tournament on FB came down to Halford and Dio Dio won. I agree. JP and BS are my 2 fav metal bands. I love both eras I usually listen to Ozzy era more though. I agree he doesn't have many notable drumming parts the last 2 albums with Ozzy. I'm alright isn't bad lol it's alright lol but it's probably the most notable off the last 2. Yeah TE just doesn't do it for me minus a song or two. Top 5 for me are def paranoid heaven and hell master of reality debut and sabbath bloody sabbath. Def similar for sure. That probably will be better but it's such a drag making videos sometimes with my depression so I just throw all in one but may get more views breaking it down. I think Born Again is maybe their most underrated it's close top10 for me not sure it would make it or not but I love love love Headless Cross and really it's the only Tony Martin era album worth high praise. I think 7th star is the worst album just because it's not really a sabbath album.

@@retro_wanderluster9962 Awesome man! Over the years the first 2 Dio albums have become even higher ranked for me. Like I said, I loved Ozzy, and then Dio I knew from Rainbow and I didn't think he'd fit. Fuck me, he totally fit! Lol! Though that sounds like I was reacting in the moment, I wasn't. I was a teeenager and likely 1981 or 82 before I even heard the Dio Sabbath.I thought Sabbath was over and though I loved Rainbow Rising, I was into other stuff at that time, like AC/DC, Motorhead, Maiden and of course JP! I agree too, that 7th Star is basically an Iommi album to satisfy the studio big wigs. I know Iommi likes it, but I can't imagine he loves it. I don't know. Anyway. Look forward to seeing more of your vids man. Now I gotta go and do what I do, to pay for what I really love to do. Listen to music! Cheers man! ✌️🤘🎶🤘

Really like it and Technical Ecstasy though I know you’re not a big fan of that album. This album maybe has more highlights whereas TE is more even. I do like Rock n Roll Doctor which gets a lot of hate. Favourite is Hard Road. I think Juniors Eyes is about the death of Ozzys Dad. I understand why the more narrow minded people don’t like this album though. But give me those two albums over 13 any day

Yeah I never got into TE but has some good tracks. I'm alright you won't change me and dirty women. Jr's eyes is about Ozzy's dad that is true. Yeah me too it's not the doom metal they're known for. I do like 13 a lot though but can't stand Rick Rubin. He was responsible for rap in the mainstream and overproduction. One I don't like a lot do is sabotage. First two songs are excellent but doesn't do much for me afterwards. It still not bad though. It seems like after Sabbath Bloody Sabbath it gets iffy in terms of what people like or not. With the ozzy albums I mean.
