These four walls (especially Jades verse) is about Jades grandfather passing away. She was really close to him. The lyrics "I tried to eat today But the lump in my throat got in the way" is about the fact that jade got anorexia after his death

Word Up was a charity single they did for Sports Relief which helps raise money for impoverished people around the world. Around the time of its release the girls went to Liberia, Africa to help distribute supplies and meet the people there.

About that boy is Perries note at the end. You should look it up live, its a whole fucking trip

they just dont know you is one of little mix's most underrated song, its personally one of my favs

Word Up actually is not part of salute, it's a charity song they made for Comic Relief and last year they added it to the expanded version of the album

This is the album that gives me the biggest case of Mixer FOMO. I would have LOVED stanning this album when it came out.

Transition from DNA to Salute era was ICONIC so much fun and interaction with fans and tours and expectations

I've never been so spoiled with Little Mix reaction. 😭❤️

Before you dive into DNA you should know that Perrie had her tonsil remove in 2012, the DNA album was recorded before that so her voice is a lot deeper in DNA album

I think jesy shines when it comes to ballads, I mean they all sound amazing, but jesy just has pure and raw emotion, she just sounds so beautiful

Towers will always be my favorite song from them, I need more power ballads on future albums!

There is beauty in the sadness, which you need to express to grieve, which you need to heal and move forward with life after a personal loss.

The song word up was a cover for sports relief.

You should 100% listen to good enough live on the salute tour (Bournemouth was a good one) because there’s an extended bridge which is so beautiful I can’t even describe it it’s my favourite live performance by far

My faves are: nothing feels like you towers these four walls stand down see me now/ move my fave album (well, can't believe you put it at last)

Towers is such a beautiful song! My favorite line is “sorry heart, sorry heart but we’ll have to start again”

One of my favorite things about Little Mix as a whole is that they never tear down other women. Almost every other female artist or group out there has a song about how they’re better than the girl that their ex is with or something to that effect. They’ve never done anything like that and I’m so happy about it.

I'm so glad you love this album it's definitely in my top 3 of all time

Some people already said the part about tried to eat today but the lump in my throat got in the way part. This song was written with them sitting in a room talking about sad moment and people they've lost. And that's mostly gonna be Jade and her emotions because lossing her grandpa was one of the worst experience in her life which lead to years of aftermath. The part what if I had one more night for goodbye. Jade said in their book she left to the hospital thinking she would come visit him tmr, but he passed away that day.

These four walls is about what jade went through after her grandfather's death.....the line that hits the hardest in the song is jade singing "I tried to eat today but the lump in my throat got in the way" because a few years after the release of this song Little Mix released their book in which Jade confessed that she had become anorexic because of the depression she went through at that time to the point that she was hospitalized because she collapsed

The Word Up cover was part of the Sports Relief fund raising challenge and the music video had a Mel C cameo. The interesting story behind this song was Little Mix actually traveled to Liberia to do some documentary promotional work and if you watch the scenes from the malaria ward hospital they are heartbreaking. They sang the song live in the telethon, which ended up raising about 31 million pounds sterling in one night.

I feel so spoiled with all this little mix content 🙌💖 my favorite album of theirs is LM5 but Salute is the one that made me fall in love with them.

Perry was the one who hit that note on About The Boy, and she also is the powerhouse to me. Perry is the queen of high notes and Leigh-Anne hits me with the raspiness, while Jesy had that deep and warm voice and Jade rocks all over the place.

Leigh is a powerhouse too and has amazing high notes. Her voice is raspy though jades is sometimes and soft Most times. Jesy has the most unique voice. People love perries high notes but I prefer her head voice she should use it more

I don't listen to this album enough but when I revisit it I'm just thoroughly impressed Little Mix delivered this quality on their second album. I remember when the previews on iTunes came out, I was blown away by the step up in the quality from their debut. I don't actually think they've ever matched the greatness & cohesiveness of this album (LM5 was a close match but had a few skips for me personally). Salute captures their brilliance excellently, with the vocals harmonies, beatboxing & fantastic vocals scattered around the place. Little Mix's best moment for me!

Compition is about a situation where the woman in the relationship is more successful because of which the man is insecure and feels the need to constantly show that he is better than her making everything a compitition.......like the lyrics where Perrie says " does it scare you that I'm living my dream "

I love Good Enough but it's honestly 50 times better live, the arrangement is sooo much better live

Salute is my favorite album of theirs. I just prefer the songs on that album, for the most part. Also- their live version of Good Enough is even better! (I know it's hard to believe but it's true.) I highly recommend checking it out!
