Mate, it took me 2 years to work my way through the audiobook version of this magisterial series. My regret was that I didn't bookmark the best bits and take notes. I was often distracted or half listening. You've repaired much of that heartache by doing all hard work for me. For that, I will be a subscriber till the day they delete yt. Thank you. X

Fine presentation, but the bit at 18:20 regarding Durer's engraving of St. Jerome in His Study is strange. Mr. Durant describes a hat hanging on the wall as looking like "Durer's wife's hat". It is in fact the hat of a cardinal. St. Jerome wasn't a cardinal (they didn't exist when he lived) but as a doctor of the Church, he is traditionally depicted dressed as one.
