I saw Albina this week as Lucia at The Met. Her voice has really matured and technique improved. It was truly a glorious performance!

Fiendishly difficult and beautiful. I prefer Beverly Sills version (which I saw in 1972) above all, but this is spectacular.

I found a new and wonderful soprano that satisfies my need for good tonal quality, good technique and decent trills. I'm happy!!

I like it. Its not a vocal dolly-bird but a Lucia with vocal weight. Her Queen of the Night at La Scala here on KZread is nearby an ideal.

And the BRAVAS rain down on Albina Shagimuratova after a marvelous performance! Just who is this lady? Marvelous diction, wonderful upper register produced with ease, a commanding stage presence. and a wonderful warm personality. SUBLIME!

I just saw her live. Wow.

Firstly, I am NOT an opera buff, in the least, and never pretend to be! - But reading all the utterly banal comments from these adult opera 'experts', I have a distinct sensation that, tootus sweetus, they ought to change their apps, press their delete buttons, get rid of their virus and simply LISTEN with ears of children! ... How peculiar what useless 'programming' does to the best of Homo Sapiens! - My GOD! - By ANY standards, this voice and performance is SUPERNATURAL!

Not so good to my ear after sitting through 300 nights of Lucie's Agony. The passage work was clumsy in the final aria and it didn't have much "donna demente" in the voice. Disappointing, really.

Yes, the fiorature are quite laboured and unspectacular.

We have had a few memorable Lucias... Netrebko and now Damrau... Albina Shagimuratova's is rather bland by comparison.

How can you say that Netrebko's is better than this? She sings the entire thing way too dark for my taste. I much prefer Albina.

Hannah Carlson OK. Enjoy! How can one go wrong anyway... it is an amazing piece and Albina does it great justice.

Hannah Carlson Nebtrebko is horrendous. Dessay was definitely one of the best

Sounds like she is trilling the whole way through with that wobble! When you consider some of the great Lucias of the past, she is an also-ran.

I would like to ask the same: where did you discovered a wobble? Its a free and healthy oscillating vibrato. But sometimes it seems that some people really search for a reason to blame an outstanding performance. But each its own.

Listening to Albina made my decision "not" to see her this april. Thank you KZread
