Rolling hard here too. Due date was the 7th but we’ve calved a 120 since the 4th. Hit the halfway mark yesterday. Really good weather though. We buy all of our replacement cows here. Rarely keep back heifers. Just works out better for my labour situation. Experienced cows are easier for me to handle. Lol. Buy out of dispersals mostly, so they were someone’s home raised cattle and kept cattle. Shipped steers last month, the price was very exciting. Have never price insured my calves before, but I’m tempted to this year. Insured price today is 3.16 on 600 pd calves.

Calves are looking good 👍 Sometimes it is a pain figuring out who to keep.. we still have 4 heifers that were going.. now only 3, as losing 3 cows in the last month, we are keeping the best of the 4.. only reason she was on the go list, she's too young. We will just keep her away from the bull for a while, hopefully she will still calve early enough 🤞 Always a gamble bringing new ones in. Sucks when they don't meet expectations. Hopefully the twins do well! And 🤞🙏 on the prolapse...

Thanks for the video. That appears to me to be a great trade...your bottom for a new top and a steer, so you get paid for the steer and make a bottom for top trade...all good in my book, which pays you nothing...haha

I'll sort around 100 heifers to keep each year at weining, then resort around April,. Kind of a rule to sell bottom 20% and top 20% and keep the 60% for consistency
