ALBEROBELLO THE CAPITAL OF THE TRULLI IN PUGLIA

Alberobello, the capital of the Trulli that will make you live a fairy tale.
Alberobello is a fairytale place, a small gem of land, set in the Valle d'Itria between the Apulian provinces of Bari, Brindisi and Taranto.
The capital of the trulli, extraordinary examples of dry stone building with conical or pyramidal roofs, will enchant you with an expanse of over 1,500 trulli, which since 1996 have rightfully entered the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The entire Valle d'Itria is characterized precisely by the presence of these picturesque buildings, which have their roots in the prehistoric era, but it is precisely in Alberobello that the highest concentration of best preserved specimens is found.
The Mediterranean climate, the excellent accommodation offer, and an unrivaled architectural harmony make this town the ideal destination for visitors looking for an atmosphere that has not been affected by the passage of time. Did you feel like setting out to discover these wonders?
The small size of the historic center makes Alberobello easily visited. All the places not to be missed are located within short distances, and in any case passable on foot, among suggestive alleys and glimpses to photograph. Here is what you can visit in Alberobello in 7 stages.
Let's start from the Trullo Sovrano, located in the northern part of the city, it is the only two-story trullo in the town, and is set up with original furniture from the early twentieth century.
We then move on to Rione Monti, the largest and most famous district of Alberobello with about 1,000 trulli, here you could get lost in search of the perfect photo. Do you want some inspiration? Go and see the Siamese Trulli, two centrally fused cones which, according to legend, symbolize the story of love and hate that engulfed two brothers.
It is the turn of the Rione Aia piccola, the smallest district of the historic center of Alberobello. Here there are about 400 trulli for residential use.
Then go in search of Casa Pezzolla, a complex of 15 communicating cones, which houses the Territory Museum. You can visit it for free. Also unmissable Casa D'Amore, a historic house from 1797, the first building built, after Alberobello was freed from any tax request, by the king of Naples.
Finally, the Belvedere Santa Lucia is the most evocative observation point in the city. Visit it at sunset to take dream photos.
