Passion, force, élan, drame, intensité, feu, émotion... Je ne sais pourquoi à chaque fois, cette œuvre en version orchestrale (la seule accomplie structurellement) me jette à la face le drame épouvantable de la guerre civile espagnole de 1936/1939, ces conflits fratricides où triomphe la haine et où sombre la raison ; "Asturias" que personnellement je mets en miroir avec l'œuvre "Guernica" de Picasso, aussi comparables dans leur grandeur tragique.

On aime passionnément cette musique flamboyante, qui met nos sens en émoi. C'est toute l'Espagne qui ressurgit avec ses couleurs, ses saveurs, ses senteurs-surtout à la tombée de la nuit-, grâce à la magie du compositeur

It's a wonderful orchestration of Albeniz Spanish Suite. I'm currently orchestrating this piece for a university orchestra. I hope to make it justice. I plan on orchestrating all five of his Spanish suites.
