4 meas INTRODUCTION. No action.
I. BASIC STEP
1 Facing diag R and moving R: Step fwd on R (1), step fwd on L (2), step fwd on R (3), turning to face ctr, touch ball of L ft fwd(4).
2 Step on L to L (1), twisting lower body to face L, step on R crossed in front of L (2) bend R knee and lift L ft under you (&), step on L in place (3), turning to face diag R, lift R ft to L calf (4)
As the dance becomes faster, the leader introduces progressively more energetic variations.
VARIATIONS:
Replace one or both touches with 2 quick steps in place (4&)
Replace one or both touches with a hop and a lift of the knee.
Replace the steps with skips.
(Place R ft crossed in front on ct 2 of meas 2 with wt on both ft and bend knees quickly on ct 2&, take wt on L on ct 3 and make a small hop on L while turning to R and placing R ft next to L calf on ct 4.)
