Thanks for this video. Brought back great memories when I retired in 1999, my wife and I made a 10,000 mile trip from Colorado to Alaska and back. We spent over 2 months seeing everything we could. Awesome experience! We made it as far north as Deadhorse and as far south as Hyder. I have now been to Alaska on 5 trips and seen Denali top to bottom on every trip. I love being lucky!

One of these days you should do the drive up from Montana / Idaho / Washington through BC, into the Yukon, and into Alaska. Not your typically historical interest but the story of the Alaska highway and the *insane* Letourneau land trains that are scattered throughout the area (basically the most insane overland vehicles ever with one in the Fairbanks area and one in Whitehorse) would be a fun thing I have a feeling you’d enjoy. A stop where the Alaska highway teams met at Soldier’s Summit would be appropriate as well.

I’ve lived here 45 years and been all over the state except SE. I worked along the Dalton Highway for 15 years and it is just another road. I was able to explore every pull off and also drove the pipeline row many times. We also hiked and fished the area after worked. It’s too bad about the fire at Independence Mine a few years back. It used to be a pretty rough road to get there 40 years ago. We usually make a trip over Hatcher Pass at least once a summer. It is also, great snowmachining up there in the winter.

Outstanding production! This video is now the centerpiece of my Alaska trip-planning file. I bought a 2023 Tundra Limited TRD Off-Road last month and had Alu-Cab's Contour Canopy, LT-50 roof tent and 270 Shadow Awning installed a couple weeks ago at OK4WD in New Jersey. I've assumed that I'd be driving from DC to Alaska but your journey is very appealing: fly in and rent a fully-outfitted Tundra. Makes a lot of sense. Btw, your son is an absolute doll and video highlight!

I’ve been in Alaska back in 2015 and drove my motorcycle solo on a 38 day trip from Ontario Canada to Anchorage. Great memories. Here’s a tip I just learned. When pulling down on the strap to close camper place the strap behind the bungee. The strap will pull itself in. 👍
