Mauna Kea would like a word with you. Also do you get an exemption for using a drone in the park?

Yeah I had “land mountain” written down, but forgot the important part. The drone wasn’t flown from any national parks.

@@atiwialadali Mid-May through the first part of July is your best bet for weather (whale watching). The back half of July into or through September tend to be a socked in, rainy mess. Late February and early March seem to be good for clear cold nights, which is also good for aurora. Can't do both in one trip.

Besides the divine beauty of Alaska, this is the best commercial Tundra can ever have!
Thanks for this video. Brought back great memories when I retired in 1999, my wife and I made a 10,000 mile trip from Colorado to Alaska and back. We spent over 2 months seeing everything we could. Awesome experience! We made it as far north as Deadhorse and as far south as Hyder. I have now been to Alaska on 5 trips and seen Denali top to bottom on every trip. I love being lucky!

I drove 17,000 miles this summer from Phoenix to Churchill, Tuk, Prudhoe Bay, Anchorage then home, camped in very beautiful spots including Salmon Glacier, had great weather and very few mosquitoes, this was my 5th time driving to Alaska and I’m ready to go again, love your videos, thx

Your videos are the only thing saving me from my desk job working from home. Thank you for allowing us to live vicariously through your videos until we can get out on our own.
One of these days you should do the drive up from Montana / Idaho / Washington through BC, into the Yukon, and into Alaska. Not your typically historical interest but the story of the Alaska highway and the *insane* Letourneau land trains that are scattered throughout the area (basically the most insane overland vehicles ever with one in the Fairbanks area and one in Whitehorse) would be a fun thing I have a feeling you’d enjoy. A stop where the Alaska highway teams met at Soldier’s Summit would be appropriate as well.

@@RevereOverland One land train is at the Yukon Transportation Museum and the other (the sno freighter) is abandoned on the side of the road here 64.93141, -147.63831. I would also strongly suggest hitting Carcross. The desert there is pretty wild to see and there is an incredible set of mining ruins just south of the town. It’s not very far out of the way. Either way, enjoy the trip! Can’t wait to watch

True story: I was ready to get a used tundra for pleasure use. However after looking at the gas price in Vancouver Canada I cried 😂and gave it up

I love Your Driving, The Way you drive slow for safety, but also to enjoy the passing by surrounding, this is what driving is meant. ❣
What a happy little baby !!! Love him
Rob, you make it look so easy to put together your trips and compile all your footage. I love your choice of low key music and listening to your subtle narrations. Others approach with too much intensity which becomes annoying after watching for a while. You are a great story teller! Learning so much from your videos.

I have driven some of those roads. I so miss Alaska! 😢 I have traveled a good amount and Alaska is beyond words. It's amazing, the feeling of individual insignificance while in the middle of such grandiose beauty.

I’ve lived here 45 years and been all over the state except SE. I worked along the Dalton Highway for 15 years and it is just another road. I was able to explore every pull off and also drove the pipeline row many times. We also hiked and fished the area after worked. It’s too bad about the fire at Independence Mine a few years back. It used to be a pretty rough road to get there 40 years ago. We usually make a trip over Hatcher Pass at least once a summer. It is also, great snowmachining up there in the winter.
That video deserves to get millions of views! Ameen

It's an ultimate documentary.... Great... I'm seeing this twice at a time now....
Outstanding production! This video is now the centerpiece of my Alaska trip-planning file. I bought a 2023 Tundra Limited TRD Off-Road last month and had Alu-Cab's Contour Canopy, LT-50 roof tent and 270 Shadow Awning installed a couple weeks ago at OK4WD in New Jersey. I've assumed that I'd be driving from DC to Alaska but your journey is very appealing: fly in and rent a fully-outfitted Tundra. Makes a lot of sense. Btw, your son is an absolute doll and video highlight!
Absolutely spectacular video, some of the sights you captured were so insanely detailed, and the beautiful majesty captured so perfectly, it actually brought tears to my eyes at one point.. Phenomenal

Hi Rob It was nice chatting yesterday on Alu cab world wide yesterday. Great video your cinematography is just breathtaking. I’ve been in Alaska back in 2015 and drove my motorcycle solo on a 38 day trip from Ontario Canada to Anchorage. Great memories. Here’s a tip I just learned. When pulling down on the strap to close camper place the strap behind the bungee. The strap will pull itself in. 👍

Thank you! That’s quite the road trip on a motorcycle! When I tried that I kept wrapping it around the bungee. I’ll see if I can stop it happening with some practice when tucking the strap back in.

Thank you! It's still not cheap to fly up and rent, but can work out similar or cheaper depending on what you rent and how long you rent for. I unfortunately didn't have two plus weeks to drive there and back from Kentucky anyway!

As if shot after shot of visually breathtaking scenery, and of course the elixir for any bad day, the laugh of an adorable child, the shot of the Aurora Borealis was stunning. Great videography, my friend.
