Alaska is for Knitters - Fairbanks - lk2g-061

In this latest episode we take a trip to Alaska on a quest for Qiviut. Our first stop is in Fairbanks where we chat with the Fairbanks Fiberistas.
What am I wearing:
In the chair:
Clapotis made with Noro Silk Garden in color #211
In Fairbanks: Diagonal Lace Scarf knitted with my homespun 2ply fingering yarn from Cherry Tree Hill Pastels Potluck Roving
Special thanks to Patti (Patsand) for inviting us and driving us to the meetup. Thanks also to Monica (Snowmagnolia) and Ginny (Gin) for their interviews and everyone at the Fairbanks Fiberistas group for making us feel welcome!

It really isn't helping their cause when they over price it and it's out of reach. Seriously, it will just sit there and the person will think no one is interested. They are, it's just not within a normal price range. I found Alaska to be overly, ridiculously priced. I understand the materials are somewhat expensive but whatever. Must I be on Ravelry to enter a contest? Lol. Duh, I just realized you don't do vids anymore. I will blame it on my MS and upcoming pre surgery jittery nerves. Sorry bout that.

I think it’s more about supply and demand. One doesn’t just walk up to a musk ox. Instead, the fiber is often picked up from a shedding ox after the ox has left the area.
