We need modern music like this today

I always assumed Black Velvet came from a one-hit wonder type. Little did I know Alannah Myles is one of the most unsung rock artists of her time.

God I had the hots for her back then. I even tied to to secure some of her music right. But my company was too small. And her lawyer owned 10% of the music, and would not even reply to our requests. But we even finished "Lover of Mine". This was karaoke. Had a similar with Gowan and "Criminal Mind". Oh well, life goes on.

I saw a photo of Ms. Myles from February 2023 recently on the CityNews Calgary website. She’s still hot, although she is suffering health issues, including “Ankylosing spondylitis . . . an inflammatory disease that can cause some of the spinal vertebrae to fuse together over time”. None-the-less, she is working on a few projects, and I’m hoping she releases some new material. Alannah, my respects, and carry on.

I've still got this thing for Alannah Myles. One of my top three all-time singers. Saw her live once where they raffled off a guitar signed by her and the winner would get to meet her after the show. I had all the numbers on my ticket but the last one, which was two digits off. Still heartbroken 23 years later.
