It’s just so wild to me that her voice has not changed at all in all these years. It’s a true testament to her vocal mastery 😭

Alanis was the first musician that I ever became "obsessed" with. I was a sophomore in high school, and 24 years later, her voice is just as enchanting!

it's like she still sings exactly the same as when she was 20. but her personality is so much different. like she is way more mature now. like you can tell she had two kids. i like how she has had to work on herself to find herself!

She’s mastered the proximity effect with mics. I’ve always wondered why, though, she doesn’t position it off to her left a little, so she doesn’t have to spend so much time leaning back and away while singing? Actually, I’m surprised none of the big mic companies never made an “Alain’s” edition. She is certainly worthy!

IMO the big amp and speaker companies are thankful she does move away; with her range, talent, timing, tone, pitch and modulation, I'm thankful its that pure to hear in real time.

Damn, man. She needed to push that mic a little further away from her. I know trained vocalists back away from the mic when hitting high notes to keep the it "even" throughout their range. But she was really leaning back far on some of those notes!

  • @adamsamess2163

@@ryanburkhalter3192 I think as her voice got richer and overall “larger” from her mid 30s onwards, and especially after kids, she’s had to learn to do it. She can’t do what she used to do in Mary Jane with her mic anymore or she’d blow out the sound system
