LYRICS
The inside joke well understood
The nudge nudge wink wink
and finishing each other's harmonies
The late night drive through italian roads
trains pulling out and we're all in on the secret
where did you go
we are a league to be reckoned with
as we run all around the planet
and I miss the band
1 + 1 = 50
and I am imploding without you
and there's not a day that goes by where I don't hear
our music in my head
where I don't miss
traveling in your company
we’re on a plane
we're in Japan
in baggage claim I ask what city we just landed in
the paper slips under the hotel door
I'm shaking all hands
a the hum-of-the-road keeps me happy
where did you go
I thought we'd meet at the temple
as we go all around this world
and I miss the band
1 + 1 = 50
and I am imploding without you
and there's not a day that goes by where I don't hear
our music in my head
where I don't miss
the adventure in your company
Hugs full of sweat and
the late night call in tears
lights that are blinding
then onto the next country
The ritual huddle
as we storm the stage
the sense on the street of
this beautiful world
I miss my family
my ears are ringing
the sun streams in on my unmade bed in portugal
and I miss the band
1 + 1 = 50
and I am imploding without you
and there's not a day that goes by where I don't hear
our music in my head
where I don't miss
the pleasure of your company

Alanis's voice, her words and whatever instrument accompanies her, is enough. The world is better because of these things.

Just saw her concert in Virginia Beach, VA and was blown away. She and her band are incredible performers and musicians, and her singing voice is absolutely beautiful.
Such a beautiful tribute to your band, the art, and the road! Can’t wait to be one of your countless cheering audience members before much longer. ❤️
Voice of Gen X right here. Thanks Alanis. My life has been better for hearing your song.

Yep I’m the same age as her too. Before Alanis, all I listened to was classic rock. Alanis’s “jagged little pill” blew open my doors and to this day I listen to all kinds of music. She changed my musical horizons for good. Thanks Alanis!

She is so fully human, in the best ways -- intelligent, compassionate, great sense of humor, sensitive, creative.
Beautiful song with simple chords sung by a vocal goddess.
I miss live concerts a lot. Singing with thousands of people to a band or artist we all love, hands raised, it's something unlike anything else
There are two women who make me feel in calm....Sade & Alanis, two precious diamonds!!!
Can I love your voice any more than I already do? Jesus, you only get better ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This song made me nostalgic for my own band. 🥲 Only I've never been in a band. 🤔
I knew a few songs from Jagged Little Pill at the beginning of last year, but after seeing the Broadway show, I decided to dive into the discography, and the number of absolute gems that are hidden behind the singles are a gold mine of knowledge and wisdom that are waiting to be unearthed. I'm glad that Alanis has become a beacon of light in this otherwise dark time in human history.

This Song was written In 2017-2018 ca. When alanis was suffering a deep post part depression. It’s nice to understand that she found support in her band mates in this hard times of her life. ❤️

I wish you could see my hand painting with strangers I came across wrote cheers and loves and recognitions of mentalillnesses and for people try so hard to function as if they are ok. It was a personal random mental illnesses campaign that it's not a joke, it's real. I wish, pray or keep having a affirmation for the painting to show up to you for no reason. Someday.

Strange how giving birth can cause serious depression.. as strong and enlightened as Alanis is the profundity of bringing another human to this place can f with us.. I'm a father of identical twin boys 4 years old in 36...I can't even explain the mid life crisis I have had with the revelation of bringing my beautiful boys to this place. They saved me more than I can explain and it's still mind blowing to know these little men are mine and to know that every thing I do and say is their life.. and I am dad...I can't imagine what a woman goes through My wife seems to be fine and same as ever but the profound experience for an enlightened person is remarkable..I have no idea what to tell them about this realm we inhabit... scary to think about
Love this lady brilliant singer thank you for lovely music xx🏍🏍🇮🇹🇺🇦🇮🇪🏴🇺🇸🇬🇧☕️🍫
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't hear your music in my head. Even if I haven't played it recently, I often remember your music and it makes me happy. You will live on forever in the minds and hearts of your audience. I have so many good memories of being young and having fun associated with you and your band's music. They may have been tumultuous times, but when all is said and done I really enjoyed myself. I don't like chapters coming to an end, it feels like dying. I've entered middle-agehood and my former life feels like it was just a dream. Your music helps anchor me to those times, whether I mourn the loss of my youth, health, and appearance or just revel in the joyous memories that go through my head when I listen to your music. I wish you all the happiness that you've been seeking, and I hope that life is treating you well. Much love from Michigan!
She's flawless 💜💜💜💜i love her idiolect,so eloquent and intelligent.
I got the cassette tape of Jagged Little Pill in '95. Listened to it all the time. Got a new car in 2001. That tape stayed in that car for 17 years (cars still had tape decks). Still popped it in to listen to it right up until I sold the car in 2018. Still have the tape even though I have nothing to play it on. Just cant get rid of it. Too many memories. And just now a friend offered me her extra ticket to go see Alanis at the Hollywood Bowl tomorrow. I am SO excited. See you tomorrow Alanis!
I got through tough times with allanis love you always appreciated her natural looks and her deep lyrics her talent doesn't exist no more in music.

Awwwwww What a nice thing to do for your friends.
Alanis for sure you are the best of the best ... bro I just can't live without you a single day in my life. I love you!
As someone who grew up writing and performing with a band, this song hits so hard. That time in my life holds some of the greatest memories for me. And while life moves on and I've adjusted to the new normal, there will always be a void in my heart for the brothers I was lucky enough to share the stage with and write music with. We were never really successful, but it doesn't matter. We did it for the love of it, and " there's not a day that goes by that I don't hear our music in my head."
Amo Alanis demais linda, a voz continua radiante.😚😍
It was great hearing from you again. Maybe you should get the posse back together and make more great memories so tou can share them with us. Godspeed.....an old fan ;)
You GO Girl! Truly a Rock icon! I love you. We all do.
Your music is part of my toughest moments . Been a fan since I can remember. Happiest moments of my life your music was there played your music at my wedding . Still going trough the grief of my divorce with the help of your music. Thank u . For every song. Loved this one as much as I loved all the other ones . My hurt feels at least understood. Love you ❤

Alanis Morissette: saying something deeply personal that resonates universally.
I've Missed Alanis! Love it!
Alanis, I've been a fan forever... Through it all... When you were starring opposite Alasdair on you can't do that on television (funny stuff by the way), to when you absolutely soared to the top of the music charts with Jagged Little Pill, and even your starring Role as our Creator in Dogma...(I don't care what some people say, Kevin Smith is a genius and you were great in that movie) listening to this song's lyrics, I realized that you and Kevin are both exceptional storytellers. He does it through movies, and you through song. Your music is timeless and SO RELATABLE! I can see why Kevin wanted you for that role. There's not a word for what you two are...I need to invent one. I guess the closest I can come to describing it is "the working person's singer/songwriter... Kevin is the working person's movie producer. You two are successful precisely because you are relatable...I mean you both hold a mirror up to the audience...We see ourselves in you. It sounds goofy now that I'm actually saying the words but it's true. Wish you all the best.
So glad you’ve stood the test of time and not falling culprit to fame fortune and drugs. As with all your fans we’ve endured much and the memories that preside. You gave voice to the masses of supporters through good and bad times. Even today your uniqueness and angelical voice continues to shine a light in our hearts and the cradle of memories you’ve brought to our lives through the years . Thank you for the sojourn and the flavours of entanglement which your songs , lyrics and music have blessed us with. We love you for that gift and for sharing it with the world 🙏
Alanis! U'r part of my life 🇧🇷♥️🇧🇷♥️🇧🇷♥️ Brazil loves uuuu a lot

Alanis, you are wonderful! I love your music, your words, and I admire and like you so much as a human being too. You inspire me when I'm caught up in depression, reminding me of all the good out there, and helping me remember that it is okay to be a thinking person, that there are people who truly care and understand, and helping me to feel normal and OK again! Thank you for all your for wonderful music -- and a special thank you for the wonderful song "That I Would Be Good"! That one still bring tears to my 67-year-old eyes! You are the best!

She is like the bad ass singer that break barriers in the music industry when everyone was doing fun pop and no one but only Alanis brought emotional songs during that time. Love you from all your fans in the Philippines 😍
Hold on. We miss you too. And are thankful for any good piece you share.
Thank you for coming to Dallas last night. We were all so happy to see you! You were wonderful!
Beautiful song. Beautiful soul. Such a unique and lifetime bond when music is created and played together. Love the mutual admiration and respect between you and your band. Love you forever Alanis
The song is Awesome!!
This is so perfect. Like I wasn't in a band, but after turning forty, I miss the vibe the 90s had. I gave up listening to radio about ten years ago and now I find myself looking up old songs. The music industry has changed alot. Pushing alot of very showy soloist performers.
I have loved you for 25 years, queen and the thought that you might someday see this message is enough to make me cry! Thank you for playing such an enormous role in my healing since I was a teen ♥️ I play Jagged Little Pill so many times that I broke the tape on three separate cassettes 😂 You once sat in a black SUV after leaving a concert in Philly in 1998 only feet from me and it was so surreal!! You waved to the small crowd that had gathered and it was one of the most special moments of my life. I adore you so much and I am so grateful for your words and for all of the lessons you’ve bestowed! Precious you are and I am so grateful 🤗💜
This made me full on cry, cuz I miss my band as well. I miss live music. I miss your shows that evoke every emotion under the sun but I always leave feeling renewed.
Thank you for the music 🎵🎶
So calming hearing your voice again.
