I love this version! I was banned from hearing anything by Alanis as a kid growing up in the 90's. This was my first song once i got some distance from my abusive controlling mother that i heard. It changed the entire world for me. I had no idea what i'd been living with my entire life was actually abuse, let alone rape. I had no foundation to form the sentences to describe what i'd been feeling all those years till this song as well as "uninvited". They changed my world. And subsequently, every difficult chapter i've had in healing thus far has corresponded perfectly with entire albums of Alanises work too. It a beautiful thing and i'm so grateful. I especially love how gentle this version is. Its like it allows the lyrics to really resonate but with gentleness and compassion that only comes with the wisdom of healing of years after the event.

This is such a powerful song and this version is so soft, so calm and sweet in comparison to the strong message in the lyrics. Love it.

Dear Alanis, your music got me through being a teenage girl in the 90's. Your voice will always take me back and make me cry and smile at the same time. I'm so thankful for your existence. Sincerely, the generation that needed your words to make sense of it all.
