Alana Reid and Tia Clayton Lead Jamaica 4x100 to Olympic Qualifying Spot at 2024 World Relays

Спорт

Citius Mag is in the Bahamas for the 2024 World Athletics Relays. Back in Thomas Robinson Stadium for the first time since 2017, this year's meet features a trimmed-down schedule focused on sprints action. The only races contested will
be the 4x100m and 4x400m for men and women, as well as the mixed 4x400m. Despite the slim selection of events, there will still be plenty of stars out to play in the third of four global championship events this year.

It was not fair for the JAAA's to just throw them together, without letting them practice and get comfortable with each other before the competition. We understand that the big three will not be around together for much longer, but we have more experienced relay runners in Joneil Smith, Natalyah White, Natasha Morrison, Jura Levy. The teams they compete against are teams that have been together as a unit for a long time. We have the talent in the 3rd tier athletes but they need to work as a unit for months not days.

The USA had Jefferson, Thomas , Davis and Clarke these ladies are a part of Americas A - team along with Hobbs, Terry and Richardson. So there was no comparison there. The men had King, Bednarek and Lyles all A-Team. None of Jamaica's top males competed. This is why people are saying that Jamaica did not take this competition seriously and hence the sub-par performance.
