50 years since he passed fyi. - but i agree this man is timeless & it makes his precise commentary on the modern society we inhabit even more mystical, he could clearly see where humanity is heading & so much more... i love those last words: "i wish i could figure out how to do all this without my body" the humour and insight in those words is pure magik :) - and here we are with this Jedi illuminating & even more powerful once death cut him down

Yet it amazes me that start of waking up I’ll listen to him, when I work, when I almost do a lot of anything due to how it puts me in a state of zen, a moment of peace or understanding without understanding it will make sense. 18:50 Thomas Moore in "Care of the Soul" talks about the same thing - going into the feeling completely and not dismissing it. I had an experience where I was in terrible grief, and threw myself into it for 3 days and after that, it was done. We live in a culture that tells us "it's going to be okay" "you'll get over it" "don't cry" and so on. It does us a disservice.

I read Alan's "This Is It" in 1970 at age 18. If I had to live my life again and could only read one book, it would be that one. The title is the closest, most succinct English-word phrase that describes the Ultimate Reality.

  • @Unfamous_Buddha

@@chrisbennett6260- The Ultimate Reality is the present moment. It's the realization that we live in an eternal Now ("This Is It") and that the self does not end at the skin. Or equally, one could say, there never was a self to begin with. Once this is realized, all philosophies, religions, gods, concepts disappear. One would certainly become (like Buddha, Zen Masters, Taoists) an atheist because one has realized something much bigger. It's like realizing a creator is unnecessary. Or another way to phrase it would be: creator and creation are the exact same thing.

Our emotions are triggered when our desires are not met or satisfied. Intellectuals avoid social gatherings due to fear of being out of control. Meditation has its limitations; enlightenment is possible when our mind is awake, its desire is to understand the causes of our emotions. Freedom from hate and anger is possible when we understand them. The teachings of Spinoza’s and Gurdjieff’s will help develop a deeper meaning to your life.

How do you comunicate so much beauty? It's Incredible. I just look at it and it brings me to tears. Because I'm looking at it and I'm looking at myself. Yeah you've never really seen a computer until you've seen it on 5meo DMT. Until you recognize that it's you and that's basically what Infinity is. Sort of like I love you, no I love you, no I love you, no I love you, no I love you more, I love you more, I love you more. Who can love who more? And whoever can love who more is God. You see that long laundry list of stuff about you that you don't love. God loves all of it. I'm sorry for not loving more, that's the only thing you have to be sorry about. Thank you. Thank You For Love! And at this point you realize that that's it, that's the point. That's the only lesson in life. That's my only job. Is to love. Everything else is idiocy and then what you do is you say I love you. For the first time in your life you say I love you because you really understand what that phrase means and you fall in love with God. But as it throws it out there, it's gentle so he throws it out there but then you say oh I can't love it and then what God will say in return is, it's okay. I love that you are not capable of love. I love that. And when that hits you. That's what fills you with enough love to overcome your resistance to love even that next level thing that you could do. No it can't be love. Of course it's love! what else could it be! It's love! No oh my God this is impossible! Of course it's love how could it be anything else!? How could I be so stupid as to think it's anything else. And God is like of course it's love.

What would you say to the comment that much of today’s turmoil-a turn to the right and the increasing influence of the appeal of dictators-is due to the acceptance of relativity in our thinking.

Yup - we are too scared to rule ourselves, and our communal fear of others inevitably gives rise to "daddy figures" to protect and rule us... watch Kymatica, it lays out this concept so beautifully and plainly - realising this basically cured my conspiracy theory obsessiveness - we make our reality

on this planet at this time, an Elon was bound to be made - but honestly i'd prefer him to most other technocrats i could imagine - and isn't neuralink or the like possibly opening the way to some sort of ESP and advanced learning probably our only hope in a world with AI and intellectual property laws that will restrict open access to a technology that will compete with humanity
