I freaking love Mr. Scratch, not just because he’s extremely disturbing and will murder you without hesitation, but the fact that he comes directly from Alan’s essence; which is even more terrifying. A very good setup for the sequel.
9:03-11:06 Honestly Mr. Scratch at his most disturbing. The way he explains the different methods of torturing so calmly is just...😖😖😖😖 Especially his line "Okay, now, guns. Not a big fan. I mean, how're you supposed to really connect with somebody with a bullet?"

I think it's mostly to fall in line with how Taken don't use guns since like Alan says they are too complex and the echos of personality would instead use tools that fall in line with the profession yet for some it's strange like the Policemen and Deputies don't use them even though they had it on hand when they were taken over during chapter 3. But I think a more reasonable answer is how they can't use weapons that have any form of light generation since they usually leave a flash after firing.
