Since we archived the first Alan Wake we of course continue our journey and head into its DLC sequel with American Nightmare. This short game continues right where the first game left off as we return to Night Springs which is....in the desert?
Since we reside in the dark realm it seems that reality is altered and Night Springs appears different here. That means that the developers can really change up the feel and atmosphere of the game and it also seems like we are stuck in a loop.
The game offers a bit of a Groundhog Day feeling and though there are multiple games like that nowadays, back then it was pretty revolutionary.
Its very much like Remedy to reinvent the wheel and they did that with this game too.
I do with there were more sections that felt alive or where you can interact with multiple NPCs like in the first game, but overall its a great addition to the story and lore of Alan Wake. Its definitely a must-play for those who are diving into Alan Wake 2.
