    WOW, I am 67 years young and believe me I have been fishing for 60 of those years. I have seen all the greats, however never have I seen a more informative, or a helpful video, Alans explanation of every stage of the session was brilliant. taught me a hell of a lot, and yes I openly admit I was doing it wrong even down to the plumbing up.Over the years you get a video that gave nothing away and left you hanging, but not this one its what the young angler needs and us old codgers, you can teach an old dog new tricks . More of the same please Alan and thankyou.

    Excellent tutorial video Alan, we used to fish the dams in Cyprus about 45yrs ago, using this method, we called the sliding knot, the Billy Lane knot, because he was one of the first anglers to use it many moons ago, in fact, he was the guy who first used this method of fishing, as far as I am aware.

    Thanks so much for a truly comprehensive tutorial on slider float fishing. I have read and watched everything I could get my hands on on slider float fishing over the years and this is the definitive tutorial by a long shot. This is a masterclass from a master. I am deeply indebted to you Alan and thanks again.

    The thought that goes into this, whether right or wrong. shows why the man has been world champion 5 times. Maybe not for me, but then again, i have won...not a lot, so make your own minds up. Can't knock his thought processes, so good on him.

    A superb film Tom, I've been looking for a good how to film of slider fishing for ages, and this fits the bill nicely, keep up the good work, with the river season only a few weeks away how about showing us how best to tackle a big deep fast river with the pole, the River Yare would be a good choice and it's only down the road

    Nice to see a video that does not involve catching carp or F1s from a barrel, sorry, commercial venue. More like this please! Just to be greedy... a couple of things not addressed in the video is how much bulk weight should be down the line depending on the depth of water being fished. Alan was fishing in 3 metres of water and using about 4SSG of bulk. I would interested to know how much he might add for 5 or 6 metres of water. Also, how does he cope if the wind picks up and/or changes direction making it difficult to hit the mark with the ground bait catapult.

    I prefer a crulluso and an ollivette, you can take the loading out of the float for plumbing up. The float stem can be adjusted for fine tuning. The locking eye keeps the float tight to the bulk. the inserts of different styles and colours are very good also.

    Good morning allan from Greece. I want to ask you if I can use your slider rigs in to the sea of Mediterranean for fish like sarago, sea bass, orata, cefallo, ochiatta, mormora. I ask this question because all these years from 1997,we use for slider fishing 99%loaded wagglers floats bodied or straight with brass floats connector like cralusso because we can't put silicon adaptor to these floats, we can't find slider floats in my country. I really appreciate to answer to my question. Thank you for your time. Nick from sunny Greece.

    This is the video I have been waiting for!! Just one query does Alan cast to the clip and then wind back before opening the bail arm or does he cast to the clip and let the float come back towards him as the bulk sinks? Cheers Tom a great video.

    Easy Fishing l believe Alan casts to the clip retrieves a few turns then if water is say up to 3m he leaves balearm closed and if any deeper than that he opens bale arm until sliding motion is complete.

    Great video, very informative. I will just apply for a new mortgage so I can afford to buy all that groundbait mix. Oh and the bait. This is the only thing when you are sponsored for all your bait and groundbait, normal folk can't afford all that stuff.

    What is the maximum casting distance for waggler fishing?Pls advice from your own long distance angling experience. P. S. I am gonna feeding with spomb, cobra or other carp fishing tackles)). For fish bite- binocular fishing glasses. 20 gramms cralusso rocket float and 17 ft rod with 10-35 grams test.

    Why not just use a locslide or Polaris float? That’s what there made for, right ?

  • @andreipetrescu603

    @andreipetrescu603

    I know the question is very old,but No , they are not made for this style of fishing the Polaris, Locslide,are for float ledgering. The teqnique in this clip has many advantages,such as the line being vertical in the water,so les line bites,not spooking fish ,much better bite sensivity.

  • @andreipetrescu603

    Also,the bite presentation is fenomenal in this technique,because there is no bomb at the hooklenght.

    The finesse is just not the same. In good conditions,the slider shotting patterns ensures more sensitive bite signaling,also ,the line sits vertical in the water,wich is another huge advantage. Polaris,Lockslide only in bad conditions,when the wind an tow are powerfull.
