What a wonderful man Alan Rickman was. He was so genuine and down to earth. No pretense or phoniness at all. If only I could find someone like him. There are a few leading guys who were down to earth and genuine like Alan, and it's hard to find these types of men today. RIP Alan, you will be missed and we are still heart broken that you are gone. You will not be forgotten.

Very sad to think he's no longer with us. Alan touched us, on some level. He connected with us. That was his mission as an actor.

Alan Rickman is 51 years older than me and I'm in love with him :D Such a wonderful person and actor. He is amazing and also so handsome. Great man!!

None of us can explain it. We're all in love with him. I quit trying to fig it out ages ago & just embraced that I love Rickman. lol. It can't be reasoned... It just is.

I think he refused to be knighted. Politically he was more on the liberal, left side... He probably didn't care for all this useless royal acts. That is just my opinion after listening his interviews.

Alan Rickman seemed so mellow. He thought before he spoke. I always think you can tell something abt the company a person kps. Emma Thompson & he were very close, so he must have had a wicked sense of humor in his personal life. RIP Prince. Taken far too young.

Wonderful sweet film. Absolutely adore both Alan and Kate!

A great and clever film....I love when Sabine moves the pot plant when she is heading in for her interview.....a little chaos!! And when Rickman as the great King seeks to escape and is mistaken for the pear expert.....and the lovely touch when he pulls out the little book which had belonged to the recently deceased queen.....it was so touching and I could believe that Louis did feel the loss of his poor little queen. She was utterly devoted to him and despite his well documented philanderings, he did honour and respect her. After all she did give him six children if only the Dauphin Louis survived.....I loved this film and all who were in it....Tucci as the Duc d'Orleans was outstanding casting.....the little exchange about the sherbets and Rickman's request for lemon.....!!! Just gorgeous!!

Alan : internet is dangerous, internet destroys the magic of a film, etc... Me watching all his movies online laughs .... Then sobs... If only he knew how many people discovered his work only thanks to the internet - years after those movies aren't shown on TV/ in cinemas anymore. Also how many people love him as Snape ( or any other character - but mostly Snape) These people can express themselves only through the internet. If only he'd known all that.

He wasn’t wrong though. I don’t think he had a problem with using the internet for film distribution. And people can totally express themselves without the internet and certainly without a social media addiction. We have been for all of human history after all.
