Alan Partridge Punches Guests Live On TV - Knowing Me Knowing Yule - BBC
Ойын-сауық
It's near the end of the show and it seems like Alan is not only beginning to lose control of his guests but his temper also.
Taken From the Christmas Special of classic comedy Knowing Me Knowing You (1994) which saw Steve Coogan’s bumbling sports anchor character from The Day Today (1994) get a shot at his own “chat show.” This is Knowing Me Knowing Yule from 1995.

Same.
I'll never forget watching this with my brother when it was first broadcast back in 1995. This is the "climax" as it were, but everything preceding it was equally laugh out loud funny, one of the greatest Christmas specials of anything. Utterly sublime. We didn't know back then what was to follow two years later...

You say that, but in fact the perfection of the Parable we see above was only present when the chaos, shallowness, crudeness, violence, mockery and meanness at Christmas gave way to the ringing of bells in heaven over the birth of the Saviour, who promises to put an end to all of the negativity. That was the true punchline. And Steve Coogan knew it and planned it.

wow...Tony Hayers forgave Alan rather quickly, and even had a meeting with him 2 years later to discuss Alans TV career(I'm Alan Partridge, series 1 episode 1).. Not a mention of Alan punching him!.
