This makes me think of this line from Futurama: "I mean, being a robot's great, but we don't have emotions, and sometimes that makes me very sad"
That was great. I'm curious about the ABC Warriors thanks to the new Warlord Games mini set and this was a great introduction. Thanks for sharing it.
Great job.

I really appreciate that! Thanks Ed!
That was a fun way to reminisce!
2000AD is a criminally under-used source for untapped Hollywood movies, with Judge Dredd being the one exception. Wish someone would do good verions of Nemesis, Halo Jones, Bad Company, Rogue Trooper, Zenith, et al. Or is that my youthful nostalgia talking? What happened to all the 1980's B-movie producers?
Great stuff, Sam.

Thanks Andy. I appreciate the feedback. I put a lot of work into this!
I remember this story in a 200AD annual I got for Xmas one year. Always stayed with me, so poignant. And General Blackblood and his Strawdogs was the coolest thing ever!
They are reprinting this story as part of The Best of 2000AD Volume 2

Thanks Sam. I plan on doing more 😀
Is this connected to judge dredd ? or Is this stand alone story?

It is a stand alone story. It was in 2000AD which also has Judge Dredd stories in.
The ABC Warriors: the biggest missed opportunity in movie history... ...and now unlikely to ever happen, with wokeness probably even targetting the sexuality of robots in movies.

How is "being aware of social issues" going to affect a movie about robots?🙄🙄

Here's an example to drum it into your brainpan: Imagine...just imagine...that daft woman who wrote She-Hulk being given this to adapt into a movie... ...now you're on your own, work it out.

@@markpaterson2053 I liked She-Hulk. Particularly the group session episode written by Zeb Wells.

@@ComicbookSam wow, we're really on different tracks then. no offence either way, I hope, as She-Hulk put me off the whole idea of Marvel (not that i was that into it anyway)
Why did he tell the little dead Martian to "spread the word"? It's dead. I always love Alan moores writing voice but just some of the logistics behind this story seem like they where written by an 8 year old.... A very very very talented 8 year old with no knowledge of how things work.

"Spread the Word" is an ABC catchphrase
Nicely done.
