Alan Freed 1952 Rare, Seminal "Moondog Ball" Early Rock 'n' Roll Concert Poster

An original 72-year-old jumbo cardboard window card advertising a dance-concert celebrating legendary DJ Alan Freed's one-year anniversary of starting his influential "Moondog" radio show in Cleveland, Ohio on radio station WJW. The date was Friday night, July 25, 1952, the venue was the Summit Beach Ballroom in Akron, Ohio and the two eventual Rock and Roll Hall-of-Fame musical attractions were Charles Brown and the Clovers. Just in case you weren't sure, those two acts combined for twenty-nine Top 10 R&B hits between 1949-1959. So, yeah, they carry this large poster just fine.
This is such a special piece for rock 'n' roll historians. And it's the only specimen that's ever surfaced. There are a scant few other Alan Freed Moondog window cards from the early 1950's, but they're all in elite collections, so this is the very first one Heritage has ever been able to offer - from any city. And it's a knockout.
