Sheen was the show, Evelyn was lost after Charlie was gone. The comedic dynamic between Charlie with Berta and Evelyn was what made the show great. Charlie never putting up with Judith’s 💩was also gold.

Charlie and Walden were two different characters with money being the only similarity between the two. The show had already started downhill during Sheen's presence with repetitive themes & episodes. Walden's soft edeged character was not as much of a contrast to Alan being "zippy" already, as the crude Charlie... A show needs a lot more to work than just one person!

Yeah but the only thing worse would be to create a carbon copy of Charlie, because they could never live up to Sheen’s performance. Who would be foolish enough to take in that role? Kutcher still gets criticised for being as great as Sheen. Plus, they wanted a name. A name will want to be able to make the character their own. They could have done a better job at creating a more dynamic character in the writers room. I don’t think Kutcher has a lot of range as an actor. Making his character a tech entrepreneur is too intellectual for this kind comedy (you have to go full big bang theory, which wouldn’t work on this show). Charlie’s best feature was his natural charisma - Walden had no charisma. He should have been a rich model/actor who is pretty and dumb. Maybe he was a former teen heart throb, and women throw themselves at him, but all he wants is a real relationship, which would have made him different from Charlie, but still similar enough for the same kind of shenanigans. But I don’t think Kutcher’s ego could handle such similarities to his real life, as he’s spent so much time over the past 15 years trying to prove he is not just dumb and pretty.

This show became a shadow of its former self after Charlie left.

The man just left a mental institution to find out he's been cheated on by his girlfriend, and she just laughs at it. Alan is far from perfect, but I honestly can't see how this is funny.

I could be misremembering but I think this is a dream sequence. I think this is the same episode where Alan dreams of Herb shooting him upon finding out that Judith's baby isn't his.

Very accurate depiction tho of real life.

Walden was a simp.. The real man was always Charlie. No way was it possible for Ashton to pull off a Charlie 😄

This is without a shadow of a doubt, the most cruel episode of the series ever made. I know it is all an hallucination by Alan while he is asleep, but for him to suffer like this more so than usual, this is *too much* by design. Sure Alan is a dork, but he does not deserve to suffer from all of the insane things he has been through that leads up to *this nightmare.*

I don't really count the pos Charlie seasons, they are just garbage. It seems to me that Chuck Lorre was so pissed that he ruined the show to get back at Charlie. Also, how Jon Cryer agreed on going on with the show having these kinda scripts is beyond my understanding. Seriously, they ruined Alan and Cryer took a big credibility hit with it, it was definitely not worth the money.

We should have known this was a dream from this point. Jake impregnating his gf and alan being audited didnt really surprise me. There was something odd about seeing walden in a happy relationship with lindsey.She can be nasty and not in the way all guys would want her to.

Facts. Chuck Lorre… is a misogynistic idiot. He ALWAYS ruins shows in the last few seasons. I hated TBBT after season eight. Season eight finale was terrible and after that, the humor became TAAHM humor and everyone was mean spirited, rude, and there was no real love between the couples/actors.
