Alan Coren Talks To Clive James, 1987
This is the second part of the show from which I uploaded the Edwina Currie interview which can also be found in my videos. Edwina appears here, as well.

We need more pundits like Alan Coren these days. Charming, witty and informed. Very urbane.
Alan Coren was great. A talented, intelligent, funny and witty man. Like Clive James also. Not smug like most people who appear on TV today.
My desert island book would be the collected works of Alan Coren. One would never tire of his genius.

Peter, would you be so kind as to provide titles? Thanks!
Ah Alan Coren, so damn funny and much missed :)
The late great Alan Coren on top form. One of the wittiest men of the 20th century.

If only he had a beautifully witty daughter who is good at cards and presenting stupidly difficult quizzes
My grandad was his gardener. Random fact but was told how lovely Alan was
Proper chat show...Clive's interview with Attenborough and Billy Connolly is a classic!
"Magnus Snow"? Typical Alan, typical. I miss this guy, really I do. He was truly "A rhinestone as big as the Ritz"
To the much missed Mr C. You’ve got a lovely daughter who’s inherited your wit and charm.

@@ohdannyboythepipes4962 … is witless, charmless, and not as attractive as Alan’s daughter.

No he hasn't.
Alan Coren: Magnificent man.
That headshake at the start is _exactly_ like Victoria's. Uncanny.

She's inherited many of his mannerism, and much of his way of speaking also.
Just looking up Alan Coren, and just noticed your profile pic. I know exactly where that is from!
Eggs is eggs. Keep them in the fridge. (Edwina) Currie was forced to resign as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health in December 1988, after she issued a warning about salmonella in British eggs. The statement that "most of the egg production in this country, sadly, is now affected with salmonella" sparked outrage among farmers and egg producers, and caused egg sales in the country to decline rapidly, by 60 percent. The controversy gained her the nickname "Eggwina". Thanks Wikiwotisface.

Good quality is this a betamax recording by chance ?
Where, pray tell (if this is the IT department, change to "pray intel"), is the first part of the show?
Friend of Archer (he regularly visited him in jail), Major, and self professed Tory through and through. It didn't show in his appearances on radio and TV, he fairly and squarely satirised all and sundry mercilessly. I'm a massive fan even though I find Tory politics abhorrent. Jeremy Hardy used to say he couldn't believe a man as fair and balanced as Alan could really be a Tory, he admired him so much. And that's from a socialist from way back.
Eggwina Currie, a low rent Maggie Thatch wannabe in stark contrast to wonderful Alan Coren.
Alan Coren. The guy who said Sainsbury's keeps the riff raf out of waitrose. Saying such a thing is scum itself
