My wife and I also lived in our Alaknak while saving for a house here in Michigan. I miss it but she doesn't want to do it again. Good luck don't rush the experience those cold nights are worth it when you get to wake up in nature and you know what time it is by the sounds of the bugs and birds. and get to relax in a way that is hard to do when you live in a house. Like the song says your gonna miss this.

I highly recommend getting either the Ecco temp or camp chef instant hot water heater, hooking up a battery and 40psi pump, a solar panel, y connector to your propane tank and you will have steaming hot showers with excellent pressure and can pump it out of a bucket or a water tank. If you are set up this solid why go low tech on your shower? In fact the battery and panel set up could probably power or charge a great many items.
