Maybe 9 rounds in that cylinder. Again, how big do you want your cylinder on a rimfire? S&W runs 10 rounds in their 617 K-frame in 22LR. Magnum runs much higher pressures and is a tiny big bigger diameter casing.

A semi-automatic firearm is a dynamic type of firearm, it must feed from a magazine, then feed up a ramp, chamber, fire, extract and eject successfully, whilst there may be fewer parts, success in a dynamic firearm is fraught with difficulty and could be problematic vs a revolver. A revolver is a passive firearm. It utilizes a cylinder, so no feeding or ejection takes place, bad scenario: a squib load (no powder) lodges a bullet between the forcing cone cylinder gap, tying up the revolver, by that point requiring another firearm, or revolver. Worst case scenario, the bullet lodges into the barrels rifling, allowing another round to fire, exploding the firearm.

Now during the scamdemic and civil unrest period of shortages, none of the dealers I've shopped at will order any standard cataloged firearm from any manufacturer. .22mag is excellent for older people or those with arthritis where recoil would prevent the owner from ever practicing or even having fun vs being in pain for practicing. Plus, it's all about placement and with me, I'm far more accurate with a .22mag than any 9mm. So ramp up stress in a difficult situation and in that moment I'd want the easiest firearm that works. Now if I'm in Russias woods and a remote cabin and a bear is coming at me then I'd want a .357 but if I'm 90yo and living in an urban apartment, I'd rather have a .22mag for precision shots, and the least amount of over penetration.

Good safety recommendation. 22 mag is a great round with great penetration, if you need that. .38 can be a great carry gun if you don't want penetration. When would you want that? Depends on ammo, your target and use. I like a slow moving .38, it is more accurate at 50 to 100 yards. Anything inside of that is MINE at less distance, with the right ammo.

A quick look today in mid-February 2021 on the Armscor site does not show any .22 revolvers at all. The DA pull is necessarily heavy on rimfire revolvers due to the spotty ignition power in DA mode and the dirtiness of rimfire ammunition- the cases don't always seat well after a few rounds due to the dirt left behind, which moderates the firing pin strike.

Alfa Proj has been around for a while now and has a solid rep but the main importer is Czechpoint. And Czechpoint is almost always outta stock! Like, even before this seeming apocalypse started they just seem to lack the ability to meet demand. Hopefully Armscor will be able to get a gun into the holster of everyone that wants one. Hell, hopefully Armscor will move on to include other Alfa Proj offerings as well! Having one of their wheelguns in .32 long would be fun.
