the man can't stop feeling the music.. he feels the music deeper than any human being on the planet... when I met Al he was playing at the west berry theater in ny. I drove from syracuse. And I got there early so I could meet and hear his sound check. And I met him and at the sound check.. and he was a kind, gentle, soul with a big grin.. and that nasal voice "hi! Im Al"... and I said "im so grateful to meet u and feel ur energy tonight"... he was the best singer ive ever heard live. He was and remains one of my idols to this day. And I have performed around the world in many country's and I always pull out a Al Jarreau song and people say 'that white boy can pull off AL" LMFAO

My hat's off to Dr. Greggs and (Eric Baskin ,arranger ) of Southern University for introducing us to a broad range of music. I grew up in New Orleans and my parents owned a nightclub, so I thought my musical taste were varied . but what came out of SU's bandroom in the 70's, 80's, and 90's was amazing to say the least.
