This is disgusting to see such referees. Trust me these Arab countries have done same thing to Uzbek Clubs. None of those 2 are penalties. The real score should have been 1-2 to Esteghlal. AFC should do something about this

The AFC should be ashamed of themselves. They need to investigate this referee for possible bribery.. Even the Al Ain coach looked ashamed following the last penalty! He knew they didn't deserve to win! Additionally, Iranian flags and horns were forcefully taken away in the stadium!? But no one would dare penalize Al Ain... Shame on AFC and this referee. There are 2 possibilities here and both are not good. 1- the referee was bribed, in which FIFA should investigate AFC, Al Ain and Malaysian referee. 2- This referee was really this terrible and did this not because he was bribed but simply because he was not experienced and skilled enough to ref this game. in which case you have to ask AFC why would they put this guy in charge of this game. either way, it looks bad for AFC.

Iranian football fans are neither prejudice nor stupid. Last year when Al-Ain won 6-2 in aggregate we said good job and they were the better team especially in the second leg on their home pitch and deserved to advance to the next round. Have football rules changed recently without me knowing? FYI when a player acts disgracefuly and dishonestly by falling/diving in order to mislead the referees, he is supposed to be booked with a yellow card as the first offence, however, in this match they were awarded not one but TWOOOO = 2 !!!! penalty kicks instead and on the other side Esteghlal didn't get a clear holding penalty foul on #7 =Tiam (Esteghlal's forward) . A five year old kid would understand this ref was up to something weird by calling 2 wrong penalties and many more one sided questionable calls. Maybe someone told the referee just blow the whistle and call as many penalties as you have to when a player in purple falls in the box . To be fair, Al-Ain is a very high quality football team that plays an entertaining top class style of football with many talented players. In my opinion Al-Ain has been consistently among the top four asian clubs during the past decade that I remember and therefore the best club among the West Asian region clubs. Al-Ain should not need to rely on the referee in order to avoid getting beat on it's home pitch.

Al Ain should've won the Olympic medal for diving or maybe an Oscar for all of those dramas. Don't even talk about the referee cause he was the star of the movie. Heard he still getting penalties for al ain yet though game finished.

I think the second penalty is fair but I wouldn't give the first one. The player seemed to have fallen quite theatrically but the referee might have thought that he was kicked by the defender.
