OMG it makes so sense. He fights exactly how you’d expect some one trained by Ken in Atsuken with a background in grappling. H3ll even Luke’s ridiculous SF5 haircut makes more sense with you map Brazilian culture onto it. Probably going for something like Laura hybrid ethnic hair style.

They've really outdone themselves with Akuma. Those animations look sick. You can tell they went the extra mile, especially for the Critical Art.

The command grab from teleport is actually a thing that Akuma could do in Omega Street Fighter 4! really cool to see pull some stuff from there

Completely seriously just letting you know, you are an actual inspiration for me in regards to properly staying healthy and fit as well as playing fgs. I started playing them last year around the time I started university and I was really bummed out in general due to moving out and being kinda alone for the first time in my life. Initially I wanted to try out JP and I ended up watching some of your videos and I kinda thought "you know I should probably get my shit together" Over the past 8 months since I've started university, I went from being completely new to FGs to reaching Master with JP, Celestial with Faust and S++ with Bubs (sf6, ggs and gbvsr), managed to take myself from being "skinnyfat" to actually having some genuine muscle and on top of that I'm finishing off my last Essay before I have 1 exam in may and my uni year is done. Just in general thanks for being an inspiration, Job isn't done yet but I'm very happy with all the progress I've made, it was dope to see you win in Texas hopefully you can take more LAN Ws as well as the content Ws, cheers.

7:00 he if you look close, they seemed to have modeled him with zero body fat. The striations of his muscles accurately ripple when he does this taunt in particular. Very curious how long it took to modeled this lmao

Played sf4 Akuma a ton, so glad to see he’s everything we’ve expected and that he’s still got that raw energy, absolutely legendary that he’s coming out on my birthday too.

The animation for Raging demon makes it look like a counter super. Ryu punches though a shadow of Akuma, then the beat down starts.

Before watching this, I got an ad using Another one bites the dust. That is probably the most appropriate song when Akuma comes around.

If you didn't notice it, Gouki/Akuma actually has two variants of the OD Zankuu Hadouken (air fireball): one from Hyakkishu (demon flip) that does the double air projectiles, and one from a regular jump that does a single 3-hit air projectile. I just hope his regular SA3 also has a Critical version where he basically does a Kongou Kokuretsuzan with a blast wave on the opponent's face. That would be nuts.

@ 8:15 It's not that DPs have upper-body invincibility, it's invincibility to airborne attacks. And the shoto Tatsus are airborne so you can DP through them.

i wonder if Raging Demon will be available on Modern Controls. Since the wording on the blog post makes me believe it is a separate Level 3, maybe the original Level 3 will be on Modern, but then you have to manually input the Raging Demon. Looking forward to learning more about it. Edit: Now that I think about it. In the regular Level 3 in the trailer, Akuma does a downwards punch on the opponents face. What if the Critical Art version of it is KKZ? I think that's the name, Kongou Kokuretsu Zan. So this way, Akuma has both KKZ and Raging Demon available as Level 3 CA.

@frostyjack6973 Well, the Playstation blog describes it as a Level 3 super: "Shun Goku Satsu or the “Raging Demon.” This second Level 3 Super Art can only be performed when [...]" But I also think it won't be a 1 button Raging Demon.

The blog says they took inspiration from Buddha statues and animals to design his muscles. Wouldn't be surprised if that was also true for his face.

They got Smug real good with that delayed raging demon, he was *very* disappointed.

The demon kinda looks like a parry tbh, you can see Ryu "whiffing" the HP after the cutscene starts. I think they made him do the HP to line up with the cutscene animation

20:02 when the cinematic starts, it looks like Ryu was trying to hit Akuma, so maybe it could be a counter super of some sorts. I'm not sure, since Demon has always been a command grab, but I did find it odd that the initial part of the cinematic had him attempting to hit Akuma.

As a Modern player, here are my Modern control predictions: S = Gou Hadoken (I think they combined his red fireball with this to make it Modern friendly.) 6S = Gou Shoryuken 4S = Adamant Flame 2S = Demon Raid Aerial S = Zanku Hadoken The following will require technical inputs: Tatsumaki Zanku-Kyaku Ashura Senku Shun Goku Satsu

you mean the shakunetsu double palm strike? i love that move, and to be honest for being an original one in Tekken was amazing. maybe the difference here is that instead of two strikes with open hand (first normal and second with fire), he uses two punches with fire, pretty cool stuff.

Akuma looks amazing in this game. Excited to see how players will use him.

It seems people really don't remember Gouki using Misogi to kill Vega in SF2 and having it as a Super in CvS and CvS in his Shin form.

Some day Brian will learn to use the arrow keys for fast forwarding/going back on KZread or use . and , to do it frame by frame. Not today, but some day. Thanks for the video tho, looking forward to start playing SF again with this patch.

I guess if his teleport was invincible like it was before he could use it to escape DI in the corner when he is in burnout state which would be strong. Also half of the cast have invincible lvl 2 supers. I guess playing JP and Ed kinda screwed your perception a little.
