Leave it to MGMT to introduce me to a great Filipino band through their trolling. Love this!

I understand why MGMT and True Faith collaborated together. It was to show that you could have a platinum hit loved by all but if you're a nobody you won't get anywhere. Proof that there's tons of amazing music out there that just never makes it due to nobody knowing you even exist; like a random Filipino band.

Sometimes I'm astounded at how good something I find sounds and how few views it has. But I'm not gonna let that make me cynical (not that I think you are!) it's gonna just make me more determined to dig in the crates and get some of this amazing music out there. Only speaking for myself, but I almost forgot how to listen to music between addiction and depression. But there's a magical quality to music. It can wake you up. It can bring you back.

The extra bit that most people don't get to appreciate if they didn't grow up in the Philippines is that not only is this song a rock cover of MGMT's song, but that it perfectly sounds like and encapsulates the OPM genre (Filipino music) that was once abundant and has now sort of faded. This could easily fool most Filipinos into thinking it's an original since it's covered so well. Brought back nostalgic feels for me. K I'm done.

This isnt a really a cover, it was originally written by mgmt but they had this bamd do a version as well for the video. Me and micheal is about how to record companys/bands rip off lesser known foriegn music and pass it off as their own. In the video, it is a massive hit and they perform the song as if it was a party song when it is really a love song. So not only did they "steal" the song they dont even do it justice or understand what its about and only care about how successful it makes them. Its about how soulless the industry can be.

When I heard this song I instantly Love it.Yet I was confused because another version came out and its from US by MGMT.Then.when.I watched their version I just broke down to tears.I dont know why?Maybe the beat and the music moved me. actually It's the other way around. True Faith already released the album Senti-mental which this song is included but it's not famous then MGMT heard this beautiful song and callaborated to true faith for them to cover true faith's song...
