Nice review. I already expected this wouldn't sound like an akm dongle. There are other setups similar to the PD5 that sound more analytical on the hi-fi sound side.

Hello from Kislovodsk (Russia)❤ А я наоборот заметил что pd4+ сухо звучит в сравнении с pd5. Pd5 звучит как то мелодичней,слитней и больше тела в звуке, и бас намного лучше. Детальность при этом у pd5 лучше тоже)

Hello friend, 🙂 Yes pd5 is a tad bit better than pd4 plus

I use the dc04 pro and the ua4 for different tastes. Warm, analog and energetic hifi. Could be the pd5 a 3rd option? Different in sound character compared to these two? I like the different buttons for skip and volume. 🤤

Havent use the dc04 pro and ua4 but they do look good. And yes the play/pause and skip buttons are awesome of the pd5 really handy when using it. 🙂 Also thanks for stopping by, really appreciate it. 🙂❤️

A link to the firmware update file and Windows driver is written on the Aliexpress product page. The volume step increases from 60 to 100.

KZread spam filtering is so bad that so many times legit comment gets removed.

Im asking the point at 03:05 Is the 30% volume is from your source? If so, what volume setup did u use in this review for Source and the DAC? When i ask my community, they said that most of the time, max out source volume THEN change the DAC volume as you wish (only if the DAC has independent volume)

Hello, sorry for the late reply. I max out the source volume and then have the volume at 30% of the dac. I know its not entirely scientific, as the proper way would be to match the loudness db like lets say 80-85db at X hours. Hope thats alight 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, i really appreciate it. 🙂❤️

Oh that's awesome!! How do i update the firmware? I haven't heard anything of it.

Just in case i just ask here You said that this DAC has neutral sound, does that mean this DAC make your iem neutral or it just dont change your iem significant?? As it is "neutral"??

Hello, yes by neutral i mean it doesnt change the ien your significantly. But the pd5 does give some iems a bit sharp treble notes when compared to other similarly priced dongle dacs. 🙂

Hello, Thank you for stopping by 🙂❤️ Really appreciate it. The KA11 is more than enough for most use case specially for yours. You do not need the PD4+ or PD5. By the way if you are looking to buy the ka11 watch my review here :- kzread.info/dash/bejne/iaZ8payAoqSypps.html I speak about some important points about setting the internal volume so that you dont blow your ears and to maintain a good volume gain. Also update the firmware of ka11. Its available on fiio's forum website or you can mail the support team at fiio and they will send you the link. Hope i helped you 🙂

this usb dac shows up as a speaker in windows 11. Also with the drivers deliverd by the seller. Anyone else have this problem? and know how to fix it? Rolling down or updating drivers/fresh install it still can't change it to headset output. So no enchantments tab either.....

You mean Speaker (Akliam Pd5) Right? Its normal, just plug your earphon, and you good to go. Oh btw, Volume and pause button is working even Next/previous function is working, but only in Mix session

Naa.. noobs looks for Akliam with CX31988 chips.. Not CX31993 cuz it for SE.. Cx31988 is for Bal.. Its the best implementations.. Peace!

Hello, i dont have the dawn pro so cant compare. But if you want even more clinical sound than pd4 plus then this is an option. But to be honest, you wouldnt be missing much with pd4 plus. Because the difference is very minute. Both are very very good dongle dac. If you want more power from 4.4, then the pd4 plus is a better option as it has more power than the pd5 as i said in the video 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my video 🙂❤️ appreciate it.
