Akkusativ oder Dativ? | German Cases Explained!

In this video you are going to learn the difference between the German cases accusative and dative and also nominative: Akkusativ oder Dativ? Which one you need to use? Are there rules? How can I determine the difference? To all these questions you will find answers in this video and hopefully understand the German cases better after watching this video.
I will NOT go into detail regarding the declension of articles, pronouns and so on. Because for this we do have separate videos for each and every case as shown later here in this description. This video though should help you to understand the German cases as a whole and get a general idea of the most important cases for beginner learners. I hope this will also work for you. If not let me know in the comments.
As mentioned in the video you can find the most relevant video links below to:
- German prepositions in different cases
- detailed videos about each and every German case
- vocabulary videos to Akkusativ & Dativ

Tips where very helpful: - Subject is always and always nominative. - Generally verbs are accusativ (better to learn non accusative ones) - If there is only one object it is generally accusativ - In case there are two object generally the non person one is accusative and person one is dative - In relation to previous line: Indirect object is in relation with the subject (generally non person so in accusativ), the indirect object is not in direct relation with the action in the sentence so can be another person (so dativ) - There is relatively small list of dative verbs.

I think you are wrong in the fifth tip: Indirect object is NOT in relation with the subject, that is de direct object because it has direct relation with the subject, so direct object is akk and indirect object is usually a person. Read min 6:35 and 11:15

This video helped me so much! I'm currently in A2 of Lingoda and they do NOT do a good job of teaching German grammar in a logical and clear way. I've learned more from your video that I have from Lindoga! This was so much clearer and easier to understand. Thank you!

I appreciate that you teach in English. Many teachers teach in Deutsch and it only makes it more difficult for me. Maybe that is necessary for institutions because many applicants can't do English well. I'm not even a native English speaker and have never been to an English-speaking country.
