I have a similar history with this film , utterly brilliant . The old Blu ray cover is def more iconic. Read the manga , it's worth your time .

I really wish it had the original VHS cover. That would have been awesome.

Love the movie for nostalgia, but then you read the Manga and you're like "what? But there's only the intro in that film" lol

That's what I've heard. Every time the manga box set goes I sale I toy with the idea of buying it, but it's so huge!

Japanese Hypersonic 5.1 DTS MA is the only way too watch Akira... powerful and rich.... the sub version are weak in comparaision.... but I'am french , I don't care about english version and french either.... always watching a movie , series or anime in their original language, and best audio quality
