i love that you added ratings. I will be visiting Japan for the first time next month and Akiba is the bucket list. I am also a Gunpla enthusiast so this is a great guide! Hope to see more in the future

I was in Japan last month. The MG Zeta Gundam Ver. Ka was sold out everywhere in Tokyo, but surprisingly, Bic Camera Akihabara had it in stock. Meanwhile, some shops at Ratio Kaikan were price-gouging current Gunpla releases. For example, one shop was selling the P-Bandai exclusive HG Gundam Deathscythe Hell for 7,800 yen.

MG Zeta Ver Ka is such an exceptional case! as fans, there are 2 extremes which either you like “back to origin” concept very much OR you hate the “retro look” design very much. Unlike WFM gunplas, i guess mainly the target audiences has ended up towards die hard fans that are 30+ years old and older. Secondly Bandai didn’t expect this will happen and allowed a lot of stocks for this product. This is why a lot of stocks still appears around the chained retail shops like BIC Cameras And ya, for P Bandai exclusive kits, the prices will never be easy going in the 2nd hand market in Japan 😢

I was in Japan in early last month, and from what I remember it was pretty well stocked at the Gundam Base I went to at least. The weirdest part was that they had a pretty good stock of it in the airport at a souvenir shop.

I was in Japan too last month! I remember it having the most stock available compared to other kits in the Gundam Base in Odaiba...

There is a lot of mg zeta ver ka in the west, so much they are already discounting it. The mgsd freedom and mgex strike freedom is a lot harder to find

Don't forget you can sometimes finds good prices at other small chains like Mulan, Lamtarra, etc

Actually I found a lot of Metal build Gundam for "cheap" at Akihabarah X. Other stores was selling them twice the original price, and Akihabarah X was actually only charging 3000JPY more than the official launching price for unopened Metal build figure. So it can be worth it to visit the place for foreigners that has difficulties to find Metalbuild Gundam at a decent price in their country like me !

I miss Tokyo! Last time I was there around 8 years ago I dedicated an entire 2 days to Akihabara. Im going to use your video as reference when I get the chance to come and visit again. Subbed to you!

Excellent! You did a good job also showing views of the shops from outside so people can recognize them if they go to Akiba

I find the Ami Ami next to the Akiba Culture Zone has more figure options as well.

Wish I could go to Japan for my hobbies. Hobby store near(1 hour+) my house selling basic ass Amazon kits like rx-78-2 and zaku II(red comet) for almost DOUBLE the price 😅 and my other passion which is retro gaming is a similar story, everything is crazy expensive to purchase but you'll probably never get back the money you invested when you want to sell

Definitely less shop nowadays and many shops close early VS pre-COVID normally open till 11pm

it’s always luck! Ami Ami is reselling most of their 2nd hand goods (except for rare items) in current market price , unlike many of the others that take it up to doubled or even tripled of the original price
