Akaso v50x is good for a more budget friendly camera. Downside is mic quality is ass. You can always fix that with an external mic.

AKASO V50-X Update: After much experimentation, I have found that this Camera performs very well with the latest firmware of Nov 2019 except that when using the APP "ACASO Go" or "RoadCAM," the issue is that the soundtracks with either internal or external mics have Pops and Crack sounds. I have not been able to find a workaround for this issue. If you make movies without using the App(s), no problems using this Camera. In this mode, I would give it a 10 out of 10, including video quality (4k) and sound (internal or external mics.) Let us hope they fix this sound issue with their App in the next update

i use this v50X to record my sons tennis while I found there background noise so loud. very wried.(probably the wind sound because I place the camera with QM-1 mount over the tennis court fence)???

Thanks for the comparison. I think the Yi 4K+ is better in most respects sharpness, colors, sound etc. The Akaso has very good EIS though.

You can use these as a dash cam but they will overheat and turn off... you are better off getting a cheap dash camera

I think it’s too new...give it a couple more weeks and it will show up on all Amazon stores in Europe. I’ll update the links when that happens. I think you can also find it on Aliexpress

Personally I still think the Akaso v50X looks better because colors are much more vibrant though what setting did you have the angle on? It seems a little too zoomed in and that might be why, also what kind of tri-pod are you using? I've never seen that kind of tri-pod before. Damn, I watched that video on the Yi 4K on the amazon review page, damn I guess I know where I'm putting my money towards and it ain't the Yi 4k

4gb max file size, the Yi 4k+ does somewhat better for battery life. About 1h and 20 min vs 55-60 min on the v50x

The Yi 4k+ is on of my favorite cameras, you can't go wrong with it. Check my review of it!

Yi4k+ has better white balance, audio. Maybe tweaking white balance on V50 and an external microphone would help. Peace

It’s supposed to work with an external microphone. Akaso was supposed to send me one but the microphone never showed up....

So, its better to buy older Gopro for low pocket, if these both sucks one for pic quality and other for stabilization

You need to use the Akaso V50 Mic! that is so useful

Is your Yi 4k+ is available?

Are any of these splash proof at least without a case? Is the stabilization of the Yi 4K+ good for something more shaky, like MTB shots?

I have a camera coming up that is waterproof without a case...but pretty expensive. The EIS doesn’t do good on either for anything too extreme

Hey, the video quality from the Yi 4k+ is better but the EIS from the v50x is better. The v50x supports and external microphone but only the one made by Akaso will work. It will be available in a couple of weeks on Amazon.

There is two version if you can't find EIS try to look for gyro.

I have seen this good video several times. I am trying to spot both good and bad. I was going to choose either camera, until I just noticed things I have missed. On the waterfall shot, I notice that the horizon is 'very odd' on the Akaso. It bends down to the left quite a lot!. Also, the trees behind, and in front of the red building, do not look natural. For me, it's like looking through a sheet of clear plastic at the filmed background. Where the Yi 4K does have a more natural look, except that the white building on the back left, seems to be up a lot higher than the Akaso, which dips a lot to the left, and does 'not' look natural, lens distortion I wonder? So which one is nearest to true horizon? For me, the Bush on the left next to the falls, looks like somebody smeared, or did a bad job trying to paint it on the camera lens! I find that checking of a lot of action cameras, show their true 'failed' resolution when you look hard at all the leaves on all of the trees in the far background of any scene filmed on any action camera. Here, the Yi 4K has reasonable distant true resolution and lens clarity. So, (for me), if vegetation does not look natural, then the camera is not on my list.

It is a shame that the audio is so bad on the Akaso V50X and that is does not support external mic :( Its like from the budget cameras there is no perfect one, one has better pic and videos but no accesories (Yi 4K+) and Amazon does not sell it only saw it from one seller at almost $400 crazy expensive and then you have the Akasos which the V50 Pro has good sound but EIS is worse than the V50X but V50x internal mic sucks...I'm still deciding, since either one I choose I will be missing something :( I hope Akaso fixes the V50X with a firmware update so the mic sound is better and so to make it able to support external mic, I think when they resolve that they will sell alot! When I asked Akaso for the V50X they specifically said that they are sending me the external microphone for it to try it.... but they never did... so it may take an external microphone. Back when the V50 Pro was released it didn’t support an external microphone and that it was added in an update...

It has 5 star review ranking in amazon, wondering if it's really that good since it has an amazing price of $59.99?? Is few issues when you mount camera on helmet i really hard to se if is on or off , is any chance to setup so is on stembay all the time, so this way u can use only the remote control when you need it. And the last how to use camera with external microphone without cutting holes in case, don't know where I can find some accessories for this camera is nothing on akaso website. Regards , overall quality for the price is good I just did 700 km trip with v50x and 2 batteries do the job so one more time thank you .

@@ivanmahusay4080 i think smartphone is better than action cam for vlogging. Iphone 7 is much better even than gopro 7. Im using samsung note 10, i think its great investment, plus you carry your phone everywhere you go so u wont miss any moments. Samsung note 8 is more than enough i think...

too much crop for akaso, to enhance stabilization, well video quality was the downfall for akaso

I have had the Akaso V50 Elite for a year, and the build quality stinks. The display screen cracked and now the touch screen doesn't work so I can't access the settings. Very disappointed. I'm looking to buy a Yi 4k +.

In the UK, V50X is £100, and the Yi 4K+ is £200. That's double the price. Not really fair comparing them. Even still, you see the difference in quality is quite marginal. I'd pay an extra £25 for the Yi but not an extra £100.

Check my review of the Akaso Brave 6 Plus, I think that one is a bit better than the V50X

Impressive to see how the Yi 4K+ has held up years later! Shame that Yi seems to have pivoted away from action camera. There seem to be a handful of Yi 4K+ and V50X comparisons around, but how do you think the Brave 6 Plus stacks up to the Yi? The Brave 6 Plus seems to be better than the V50X in all the same ways the Yi is: wider FOV, more detailed, and better sounding audio.

with Gimbal ,No stabilisation , No lens correction is low light and day light video better .
