You may want to check out the "Hands and feet project". These people as you refer to them fund an orphanage in Haiti

Christian music is supposed to be about God. What does this song have to do with God?

Hey Mike. I'm glad you asked. PLEASE READ THIS!!! (It will answer your question): Believe it or not, Christian music in the 90s (like this vid) had a bit more of a clearer representation of God and the Christian life than some of today's CCM music videos, and Audio Adrenaline is not really an exception. I'll answer your question in a bit, but first, let me say this: I only watched this video ONCE and the spiritual message became instantly clear to me. That's definitely the power of God (and also because He placed me in a family who surrounded themselves on the Word and on the things of God more than the world). But anyway, I digress. To help you out, here is the spiritual message of the song & music video: 1. MEANING OF THE SONG: The song itself addresses to the youth that they don't necessarily need to go to another country in a far away land in the middle of nowhere to witness for Jesus (even though of course, that is definitely a good thing). But they can also be witnesses right where they are, in their own public schools, because there are people in their immediate area who need the Gospel as well. The reason why the song is called "A.K.A. Public School" is to emphasize the point that our schools are, in reality, mission fields in which we must bear the Light of Jesus Christ to the masses, while at the same time, battling against the powers of darkness at work...and all that disguised under the name "Public School". 2. MEANING OF THE VIDEO - BASKETBALL GAME: The basketball game scene has Audio Adrenaline playing as the home team for the school. Now, there is another HD version of this music video on KZread where it opens with a team member praying in the beginning. For some strange reason, it's not in here, but anyway. Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed, the team is named the Salt County Sheep. Notice the biblical references in the name? "SALT" as in salt of the earth and "SHEEP" as in the flock of the Good Shepherd (aka Christians). Now, the opposing team, as you may notice, is called the "Red devils". I don't think I need to clarify who they represent. And of course, after a long and intense game, the Sheep team wins, representing the fact that when it is all said and done, Jesus is the Victorious One! 3. MEANING OF THE VIDEO - FLASHBACK SCENES: In the flashback scenes, we see each of the Sheep team members reaching out to help their fellow students and peers, going against the apathetic pattern of the school system to be a light and make a difference. They do this to provide examples of how students watching this video can make a difference for Jesus Christ in their own schools, even by doing the simple things, because those things can and will make a large impact. And as a fun little bonus, we also get to learn each of the band members' names, heights, and what "position they play" (code term for what they do in the band). BONUS: THE THREE GUYS AT THE DOOR Beginning at 3:03, three guys enter the door of the gym. That's just a cameo appearance by another well-known Christian group at that time, known as DC Talk. Today, each of these guys have their own separate careers, and two of them are still going strong. The one on the left of the screen is TobyMac, the one in the middle with the afro is Michael Tait (current lead singer of Newsboys), and the one on the right is Kevin Max (who would eventually take over as leader of Audio Adrenaline for a short time period). I know, that was EXTREMELY LONG, but you asked lol :) I hope and pray this gives you a more clearer understanding about this music video. And hey, the next time you come across a Christian music video with a "hidden" message and need some clarification, check out the song's lyrics, and see if you can point out the common factor between the video and the words. If that doesn't work, you can always pray and ask the Lord to give you discernment over the matter. Believe me, that works too. God bless you! Have a wonderful day :)
